Did the anti-war activist bride find peace with her Iraqi veteran husband? Was the spouse in the May-December marriage able to put his gigolo past behind him? Book excerpt: Romance is undeniably otherworldly. Heart racing, breath quickening, senses ablaze—it's all part of what makes love so frighteningly grand. As Francois de La Rouchefoucauld said four centuries ago, “It is with true love as it is with ghosts; everyone talks about it, but few have seen it.” And yet, there are those who have seen both. Welcome to Haunted Love. With settings ranging from southern Florida to South Korea, Haunted Love delivers a rich and varied collection of tales that touch the heart and tingle the spine. The book features lush historical narratives that capture all of the tenderness, heartbreak, and raw emotion of the love affairs along with the chillingly detailed encounters with the ghosts these ill-fated romances left behind.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jesus went around all the towns and villages, teaching…and proclaiming the Good News about the kingdom. He was healing all kinds of sicknesses and diseases (Matthew 9:35 PEB). In the spiritual battlefield of modern medicine, Healing Prayer and Medical Care is a soul-searing collection of true life stories and a proven victorious blueprint for a vital healing prayer ministry. Author Abby Abildness uses her 30 years in the medical field to help you to face the often dour circumstances of life. With successful experiences through healing prayer at medical centers and hospital chapels, Healing Prayer and Medical Care reveals clearly that God is healing people every day. Healing Prayer and Medical Care presents three critical foundations: · Rest: “You are tired and have heavy loads. If all of you will come to Me, I will give you rest” (Matt. 11:28 PEB). · Restoration: “The One Who Is Always Present says: ‘Hey, all of you who are thirsty, come to the waters. Those of you who don’t have any money, come. …You will enjoy the best food; it will truly satisfy your soul’” (Isa. 55:1-2 PEB). · Healing: “I am the Lord who heals you,” Jehovah Rapha. Your outlook about medical care and prayer will never be the same after reading Healing Prayer and Medical Care.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dr. Michael Jeremiah and his family are professing Christians fulfilling their life dreams. As good Bible students they know that: Some 2000 years ago, Jesus Christ was crucified, buried, and on the third day rose from the dead. He died with a mortal body and was resurrected with an immortal body. Over 500 persons witnessed Him in His resurrected form. After 40 days He gathered His Apostles, and gave orders for their mission on the earth. After He had spoken He was lifted up, as the Apostles watched, a cloud received Him out of their sight as he ascended into Heaven. Two angels standing beside the Apostles said, "This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into Heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into Heaven." Other scriptures tell us that some day He will return to the earth. But sometime prior to this, Christ will descend from Heaven with a shout and the trumpet of God to call all true Christians to be caught up in the clouds to meet Him in the air and be taken to Heaven. At the moment of this event, often called the Rapture, Michael and his family look forward to being changed from mortal to immortal bodies and to dwell with God in Heaven forever. THEIR LIVES ARE DISRUPTED by 9/11 and the War on Terror Michael Jeremiah, the Supreme Council and his family are thrust into positions of power in order to save the teetering United States from economic, social and moral collapse. Michael relies on his family ties, placing many of them in key leadership positions. Dr. Tandatina Allio, Michael's wife (a world renown brain surgeon), is his second in command. His father, Vice Admiral John is Director of NSA; his grandfather, Admiral Peter, is Director of Intelligence; his brother Thomas is Secretary General of the UN; and his sister Rebecca is Director of the Red Cross. All the while, Michael Jeremiah and his family move through life with the understanding that the Rapture is near. But, we are getting ahead of ourselves. Let's go back to the beginning of this story. AMERICA IS IN CRISIS. This was the newspaper headline. "America in Crisis". Polls show Americans are fearful of both the present and the future. There seems to be no hope. Americans want - demand that they be rescued, that our nation's many problems be solved. Rescued from what? Solve what problems? A respected panel published a white paper on the subject. They reported: "It is near the end of the George W. Bush administration. The country is being torn apart over the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. At least, at times, it appears to be President Bush's private war. He never asked Congress for a Declaration of War, nor asked the Nation to be directly involved, as it was during World War II. Our military's hands tied by politics. The Nation is in chaos with almost everyone demanding their rights, their freedom to do whatever they wish. Terrorists have attacked again in four cities: more than 30,000 killed. Vicious gangs and drug pushers demand their rights: our police are handcuffed. Purveyors of filth shout freedom of speech; pornography is called art; Christians and Jews are muzzled. Our founding fathers knew that everything has limits and boundaries. The Judeo-Christian ethic provided the moral foundation to go with our rights and freedoms and moral boundaries were set. But now, these moral boundaries are absent and freedoms are turning to license, edging closer and closer to anarchy. Our people do not feel safe sending their children to school, leaving their homes. Fear is everywhere; faith in government is near zero. The People pray for a man a superman a bold knight, to rescue them and the nation." MICHAEL JEREMIAH and the Supreme Council OFFER HOPE During times of crisis, l

Book excerpt: A compassionate, shame-free guide for your darkest days “A one-of-a-kind book . . . to read for yourself or give to a struggling friend or loved one without the fear that depression and suicidal thoughts will be minimized, medicalized or over-spiritualized.”—Kay Warren, cofounder of Saddleback Church What happens when loving Jesus doesn’t cure you of depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts? You might be crushed by shame over your mental illness, only to be told by well-meaning Christians to “choose joy” and “pray more.” So you beg God to take away the pain, but nothing eases the ache inside. As darkness lingers and color drains from your world, you’re left wondering if God has abandoned you. You just want a way out. But there’s hope. In I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die, Sarah J. Robinson offers a healthy, practical, and shame-free guide for Christians struggling with mental illness. With unflinching honesty, Sarah shares her story of battling depression and fighting to stay alive despite toxic theology that made her afraid to seek help outside the church. Pairing her own story with scriptural insights, mental health research, and simple practices, Sarah helps you reconnect with the God who is present in our deepest anguish and discover that you are worth everything it takes to get better. Beautifully written and full of hard-won wisdom, I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die offers a path toward a rich, hope-filled life in Christ, even when healing doesn’t look like what you expect.
