Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Teacher Education Intersecting Comparative and International Education by : Florin D. Salajan
Download or read book Teacher Education Intersecting Comparative and International Education written by Florin D. Salajan and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2023-04-06 with total page 305 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book draws critical connections between teacher education or preparation and the field of comparative and international education (CIE) showing ways in which the two fields can inform and advance one another. The chapters consider how teacher education shapes and is shaped by CIE, particularly in an era of socio-cultural upheavals, politico-economic transformations and climate or health crises affecting the human and natural world. The question at the core of the book is: in what ways can comparative and international education support a rethinking of teacher education in the wake of the social movements for equity, justice and civil liberties with ramifications for educators around the world? It includes contributions from leading academics based in Argentina, Canada, China, Columbia, Finland, Grenada, Hong Kong, Myanmar, Spain, South Africa, Turkey and the USA. The chapters cover topics ranging from equity, social justice, and the sustainable development goals to country case-studies including teacher education in Myanmar and a comparative study of teacher preparation in South Korea and the USA.

Download or read book Benedict XVI written by Estefanía Acosta and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2021-02-20 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "What does it mean to be loyal to the Pope, if we do not consider ourselves obliged to know who the true Pope is?" "For the purpose of knowing who the true Pope is." This is what Benedict XVI: Pope "Emeritus"?, by the Master in Law of the University of Medellin, Estefanía Acosta, helps to answer, by addressing, in light of divine and ecclesiastical law, the still current (and greatest) impasse suffered by the Papacy at the gates of its bimillenial existence. A basilar and indispensable instrument for understanding Benedict XVI's declaration of resignation and Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio's election, as well as their later developments, this work, the most complete study of canon law on the subject, has as one of its great merits that of helping so that, with Saint John Bosco, the cry Long live the Pope! may resound. Certainly, a hot topic, like our times, especially for all those who in spirit and truth are interested in God, the Church and the Papacy.

Book Synopsis University and School Collaborations During a Pandemic by : Fernando M. Reimers
Download or read book University and School Collaborations During a Pandemic written by Fernando M. Reimers and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Based on twenty case studies of universities worldwide, and on a survey administered to leaders in 101 universities, this open access book shows that, amidst the significant challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, universities found ways to engage with schools to support them in sustaining educational opportunity. In doing so, they generated considerable innovation, which reinforced the integration of the research and outreach functions of the university. The evidence suggests that universities are indeed open systems, in interaction with their environment, able to discover changes that can influence them and to change in response to those changes. They are also able, in the success of their efforts to mitigate the educational impact of the pandemic, to create better futures, as the result of the innovations they can generate. This challenges the view of universities as "ivory towers" being isolated from the surrounding environment and detached from local problems. As they reached out to schools, universities not only generated clear and valuable innovations to sustain educational opportunity and to improve it, this process also contributed to transform internal university processes in ways that enhanced their own ability to deliver on the third mission of outreach
