Download or read book Renovated written by Jim Wilder and published by NavPress. This book was released on 2020-04-21 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Outreach Magazine’s 2021 Resource of the Year in the Church Category Christianity tends to focus on beliefs and choices as the keys for personal growth. But biblical evidence and modern brain science tell a different story. Combining faith with the latest developments in neuroscience and psychology, Renovated offers a groundbreaking and refreshing perspective of how our attachment to God impacts our minds and hearts. You’ll find that our spiritual growth is about more than just what we believe—it’s about who we love. Drawing from conversations he had with Dallas Willard shortly before Dallas’s death, Jim Wilder shows how we can train our brains to relate to God. Transformative and encouraging, this book offers practical insight for deepening your relationship with God through the wondrous brain and soul that He has given you. “Elegant, clear and bountiful in hope . . . if transformation for yourself and your community is what you seek, I can think of no better place to start.” —Curt Thompson, author of Anatomy of the Soul “Jim Wilder offers genuine hope. He uniquely combines the truth of Scripture with the truth in developing brain science to give us a path of renewal and restoration.” —Dudley Hall, president of Kerygma Ventures “A breakthrough on so many levels. Renovated is a must-read for everyone who is serious about discipling people and seeing life transformation.” —Bob Roberts, pastor and founder of GlocalNet

Book excerpt: JK Lassiter moved to Dallas for a chance at a normal life. But normal is a hard thing to come by when he's at the mercy of the rogue psychic power that robbed him of a decade of friendships and joy. At twenty-eight he's finally making up for those lost years. He's landed a job renovating a long-neglected house. He's met eccentric neighbours, made new friends, and after sexy man-next-door, Nick Collier, shows up, he's even begun to hope that romance might not be impossible. But when JK's extra-sensory abilities reveal evidence of a brutal crime, he finds himself embroiled in a murder investigation and feels his dream of attaining a normal life slipping away again. Even worse, the list of suspects starts with JK's new neighbours, his new friends, and, as far as the police are concerned, ends with Nick. Now with the lives of people he cares for on the line, JK he must fight to control the abilities he never wanted to hunt down a killer.
Book Synopsis Renovation of the Heart by : Dallas Willard
Download or read book Renovation of the Heart written by Dallas Willard and published by Tyndale House. This book was released on 2014-02-27 with total page 381 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As Christians, we know that we are new creations in Jesus. So we try to act differently, hoping this will make us more like Him. But changing our outward behavior doesn’t change our hearts. Only by God’s grace can we be transformed internally. Renovation of the Heart lays a biblical foundation for understanding what best-selling author Dallas Willard calls the “transformation of the spirit”—a divine process that “brings every element in our being, working from inside out, into harmony with the will of God.” This fresh approach to spiritual growth explains the biblical reasons why Christians need to undergo change in six aspects of life: thought, feeling, will, body, social context, and soul. Willard also outlines a general pattern of transformation in each area, not as a sterile formula but as a practical process that you can follow without the guilt or perfectionism so many Christians wrestle with. Don’t settle for complacency. Accept the challenge Renovation of the Heart offers to become an intentional apprentice of Jesus Christ, changing daily as you walk with Him.

Book Synopsis Renovating Secondary Sewage by Ground Water Recharge with Infiltration Basins by : Herman Bouwer
Download or read book Renovating Secondary Sewage by Ground Water Recharge with Infiltration Basins written by Herman Bouwer and published by . This book was released on 1972 with total page 124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A field project demonstrated the feasibility of renovating secondary sewage effluent by ground water recharge with infiltration basins. Maximum loading rates were obtained. With the schedules the system could infiltrate 300-400 ft/year using a water depth of 1 ft. Grassed basins had higher infiltration rates, and a gravel covered basin had a lower infiltration rate than a bare soil basin. Essentially complete removal of BOD and fecal coliform, and significant removal of phosphorus, nitrogen and fluoride were obtained. Hydraulic properties of the aquifer were evaluated by analog from the response of piezometric heads in the ground-water system to infiltration. These properties were then used in the design of a prototype system, which would yield renovated water at an estimated total cost of about $5 per acre-foot at the pump.

This book was released on 2013-11-01 with total page 344 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Th Accelerating the diffusion of energy-efficient renovations is a key policy lever in order to reduce the environmental impact of buildings. This book provides a broad, systemic perspective on the causes of the diffusion of energy-efficient renovations in Switzerland and policy recommendations for accelerating the diffusion process. Specifically, the book provides a description of the societal problem situation within which the diffusion process takes place and an analysis of the actors involved. It provides a detailed explanation of the causes of the diffusion process that synthesizes insights from the engineering, economics, marketing, sociology, communication studies and political science literature. It employs the System Dynamics methodology to simulate the diffusion process and analyze policy levers. The book proposes two regulations and a sketch of a business model as particularly promising public policy interventions. It concludes with an outline of a generic theory of the diffusion of sustainable technologies.
