THe VVLP had improving employment opportunities and medical care for veterans as its goal. Governor Kean reminds his audience about the stigma of an unpopular war, fighting against unfair sterotypes, a much higher unemployment rate (than the then national average) and how our veterans dealt with how society viewed them. This center provided services in education, securing employoment (including a job search workshop), counseling, training programs and medical benefits. He stresses that our young veterans needed what they deserved from our society: jobs, health care, skills and the assurance of our support.
