If these hard realities do not wake you up to the wonders of extreme rocket flight, then consider the following facts. 1) Relativistic rockets in theory permit unlimitedly huge super-unitary multiples of light-speed recessional velocity from Earth or any other place of origin in any reference frame based on far enough travel and the expansion of space-time between the spacecraft and point of origin due to universal expansion. 2) Relativistic rockets in theory permit unlimitedly huge super-unitary multiples of present era cosmic light-cone radius distance travel in any reference frame from Earth or any other place of origin based on far enough travel and the expansion of space-time between the spacecraft and point of origin due to universal expansion.

However, the reader is asked to keep an open mind in reading the subject content while being reassured that I am aware of the caveats for the respective proposed relativistic rocket applications. In fact, I have put much focus on listing and describing the caveats for the systems to work if for no other purpose than the reassure the reader of the rationality and credibility of the specific plausibility arguments provided herein. The book is largely devoid of any mention of still unverified extraterrestrial persons and other similar concepts which might otherwise detract from the scientific soundness of the plausibility arguments provided herein. Neologisms and related New Age diatribe types of pseudo-scientific prose are absent from the book. This is not to imply that I as the author am not open minded to currently unverified physical theories and the possibility of extraterrestrial civilizations suffice it to say that in order to appeal to the broader scientific and engineering community as well as the intelligent lay-person, I saw the need to completely avoid such hard to explain and verify conceptualizations. This book focuses on procedurally advanced relativistic rocket concepts with an eye toward extremely special relativistic systems that may enable travel on the galactic scale within the Milky Way Galaxy and further abroad. Most books and papers on proposed interstellar travel mechanisms either focus on extremely speculative concepts such as wormhole travel, warp drive, tachyonic or faster than light inertial travel, time travel and the like; or focus instead on systems that are mildly relativistic usually with poor acceleration performance. This book delves into some little charted territory by proposing mechanisms that may enable travel velocities in some cases almost indistinguishable from the speed of light in vacuu thereby enabling crew members from our cosmic era to travel truly cosmic distances in space and forward in time while alive and awake. In some scenarios, such extreme special relativistic inertial systems are argued as having merit over any future possibilities for wormhole travel, warp drive, and the like.

The subject materials are offered in a plausible although somewhat informal way with the understanding that solid state physics is a still-developing field. Mechanical and refractory properties of plausible nuclear density or “supernuclear density” materials are explained in the descriptions of the related interstellar propulsion methods.Also included are scenarios for which relativistic rocket spacecraft may achieve very extreme gamma factors which in some cases will require the above mentioned extreme materials. However, contexts in which such materials would be required are delineated for some scenarios involving hypothetical missions that could occur in the cosmically distant future or which may endure for cosmic time periods. Such lengthy missions are arguably possible without the extreme materials based on the possibility of an eternally expanding universe and the subsequent rarefication of the intergalactic medium. The reason for this is the increasingly rarefied photonic and massive backgrounds in intergalactic space as the universe expands in volume. With lower mass-energy densities, the amount of drag and heat due to friction will be reduced for a given velocity. Also, the background electromagnetic radiations will be progressively red-shifted and therefore cooled, thus enabling higher spacecraft gamma factors.
