Book Synopsis Hadron Spectroscopy by : Alberto Reis
Download or read book Hadron Spectroscopy written by Alberto Reis and published by American Institute of Physics. This book was released on 2006-02-21 with total page 790 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of Hadron 05 was to discuss recent developments in hadron spectroscopy. New hadrons have been discovered in the past few years. These states do not quite fit into the traditional quark model classification scheme of hadrons. There has also been a remarkable improvement in the understanding of heavy quark bound systems, or heavy quarkonia, as well as the so-called scalar mesons. Topics covered include baryons, exotics, and hadron structure.
Book Synopsis The Structure of the Nucleon by : Anthony W. Thomas
Download or read book The Structure of the Nucleon written by Anthony W. Thomas and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2010-11-17 with total page 305 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As the only stable baryon, the nucleon is of crucial importance in particle physics. Since the nucleon is a building block for all atomic nuclei, there is a need to analyse the its structure in order to fully understand the essential properties of all atomic nuclei. After more than forty years of research on the nucleon, both the experimental and theoretical situations have matured to a point where a synthesis of the results becomes indispensable. Here, A.W. Thomas and W. Weise present a unique report on the extensive empirical studies, theoretical foundations and the different models of the nucleon. The appendices provide an extensive summary of formulae needed in practical calculations. From the contents: electromagnetic structure of the nucleon, weak probes of nucleon structure, deep inelastic lepton scattering on the nucleon; elements of QCD, aspects of non-perturbative QCD, Chiral Symmetry and nucleon structure, models of the nucleon
Book Synopsis N* Physics - Proceedings Of The Fourth Cebaf/int Workshop by : Harry Tsung-shung Lee
Download or read book N* Physics - Proceedings Of The Fourth Cebaf/int Workshop written by Harry Tsung-shung Lee and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1997-06-27 with total page 358 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It has been well recognized that the study of the excitations of the nucleon can shed light on the nonperturbative aspects of QCD. New opportunities for such study will be opened in the next few years with the commissioning of experiments in Hall B of the Continuous Electron Beam Accelerator Facility (CEBAF) at the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (JLab). Photo- and electroproduction studies of single and double pions, rhos, omegas, and kaons will be conducted with unprecedented precision. The Hall B CLAS detector is a major step forward, promising to provide kinematically complete measurements of cross sections and spin observables. The task of extracting new insights from such detailed measurements will require close coordination between experimental and theoretical physicists. To help optimize this interface between theory and experiment, a joint CEBAF/INT workshop was held at the Institute of Nuclear Theory in Seattle, September 9-13, 1996. The foci of the 1996 workshop included: N → N∗ transition form factors as predicted by QCD-inspired models and their experimental consequences; theoretical techniques employing QCD sum rules, perturbative QCD, and lattice QCD; reaction theories of photo- and electro-production of mesons; theoretical issues in the eta meson, vector meson, and two-pion production channels; progress in developing amplitude analyses for the available and expected data; the relationship between the Hall B program and those of other new experimental facilities. This proceeding will serve readers as both a current perspective on the field and a guide to future experimental and theoretical research directions.

This book was released on 2008-11-07 with total page 615 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The QNP series of international conferences on Quarks and Nuclear Physics is by now a well established and highly respected forum where the most recent developments in the field are discussed and communicated. QNP 2006 is the forth edition of this biennial meeting. Selected and refereed original contributions of QNP 2006 have been published in The European Physical Journal A - Hadrons and Nuclei (EPJ A), while the present proceedings book, in addition to reprinting the articles published in EPJ A, further includes all other contributions selected and accepted by the organizing committee for publication and archiving.

Book Synopsis Exclusive Reactions Of High Momentum Transfer, Proceedings Of The International Workshop by : Paul Stoler
Download or read book Exclusive Reactions Of High Momentum Transfer, Proceedings Of The International Workshop written by Paul Stoler and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1994-06-22 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: During the past decade considerable literature has appeared on the topic of exclusive reactions at high momentum transfer. Two important recent developments offer the possiblity of experimentally testing the theoretical ideas in a systematic way. These are the potential CEBAF energy upgrades and the proposed 15 - 30 GeV European Electron Accelerator, ELFE.This volume records the state-of-the-art in studying exclusive reactions at high momentum transfers and establishes a common body of knowledge to be shared by all. There is some emphasis on the use of perturbative calculations to connect hadron structure to experimental measureables and other topics, including color transparency, the use of QCD sum rules and experiemental data.

This book was released on 1995-02-22 with total page 598 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A series of new and relevant experimental results are here presented to the community for the first time. In particular, we refer to the measurement of the neutron spin structure functions by the SLAC (E142) and CERN (SMC) collaborations; the first results from MAMI on experiments with tagged photons (A1 collaboration), on electroproduction of multi-hadron final states (A2 collaboration) and the neutron form factor (A3 collaboration); the experiments on strangeness photoproduction at ELSA; the polarization experiments at Bates on the neutron form factor and nuclear response functions and the photon and electron scattering data obtained by the Genova-Frascati Jet Target collaboration.Focused on the study of spin observables and exclusive processes at high momenta, the following sessions were held: The Neutron Form Factors; Spin Structure Functions; Exclusive Processes at High υ and Q2. Deep Inelastic Scattering; Spin Observables; One- and Two-Nucleon Knockout at Low and Intermediate Energies; Excitation of Baryons Resonances and Strangeness.
