Book excerpt: Excerpt from Register of the Graduates of the Departments of Engineering, Geology and Chemistry of Leland Stanford Junior University: 1892-1901 This Register is issued by the Departments of Leland Stanford Junior University which have to do mainly, or to a considerable extent, with preparation for industrial professions. It has been compiled by members of the Departments of Engineering, Geology, and Chemistry, and published by private subscription. The objects of the publication are: in the first place, to inform the interested public as to the results in these lines of ten years development in the University, that the tree may be judged by its fruit; and, in the second place, to inform students, or those expecting to be students, as to the general character of opportunities which are presented to those completing satisfactory courses in these Departments. The Register is confined to graduates of those Departments the technical applications of which are rather closely related, and includes those graduated from the beginning, in 1892, to May 1901. In a number of instances the present addresses of alumni are unknown to the editors, and data are therefore lacking. It is hoped that graduates will supply any information they may possess to correct or supplement data herein contained. Such information may be sent to the professors in the Departments concerned.
