Book excerpt: Grumpy meets sunshine in this sweet romantic comedy prequel. Is revenge real estate a thing? I just spent millions of dollars on a hotel after my boyfriend dumped me. My friends think I rebound too quickly...so, there's one tiny problem with leasing this resort—the owner. The tall, muscled owner with a tattoo peeking out of his shirt sleeve. Rebounding with a hotel is one thing, but is this guy worth risking my heart? Welcome to the Jane Austen Vacation Club! A behind-the-scenes glimpse at the people who run the Hartfield Regency Resort in Loveland, Colorado. Get to know how it all begins in this sweet romance novella. It’s only one-hundred pages, so you can probably read it in two hours! This prequel is an intro to Britni and Axel, but you don't get to their happily ever after yet. The prequel is more of a not-so-cute meet cute as well as a "wait for more later, but check out their chemistry now!" It's a sweet, closed door romantic comedy with plenty of swooning and smolder, but no spice.

Book excerpt: My publisher invited me to attend an all-expenses paid writing retreat at the posh new Hartfield Regency Resort in Loveland, Colorado. Carole isn't nice like that—there must be a catch. There is. His name is Ryder Hawk, the outlaw leader of the all-male Western writers who work for the same publishing company. He thinks he’s agreed to attend an all-expenses-paid week at a dude ranch. Yeah, no. Carole has other ideas. She wants to break into the cowboy romance market. If I want to renew my writing contract, I have to do more than put up with Ryder and his gang of cowboy cronies for a week. We have to write together. The problem is, Ryder and I have a history. And it’s more like war than peace.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Handbook of Art Therapy has become the standard introductory text into the theory and practice of art therapy in a variety of settings. The comprehensive book concentrates on the work of art therapists and the way that art and therapy can combine in a treatment setting to promote insight and change. In this fourth edition, readers will gain both a historical overview of art therapy and insight into contemporary settings in which art therapists work, with a new chapter on the use of new technology and working online. The authors are highly experienced in the teaching, supervision and clinical practice of art therapy. Using first-hand accounts from therapists and patients, they look particularly at the role of the art work in the art process and setting in which it takes place. Chapters explore the theoretical background from which art therapy has developed and the implications for practice including the influence of art and psychoanalysis, creativity, aesthetics and symbolism, and the impact of different schools of psychoanalytic theory. Also featured is an extensive bibliography, encompassing a comprehensive coverage of the current literature on art therapy and related subjects. Covering basic theory and practice for clinicians and students at all levels of training, this book remains a key text for art therapists, counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists and students at all levels, as well as professionals working in other arts therapies.

Book excerpt: Craft in Art Therapy is the first book dedicated to illustrating the incorporation of craft materials and methods into art therapy theory and practice. Contributing authors provide examples of how they have used a range of crafts including pottery, glass work, textiles (sewing, knitting, crochet, embroidery, and quilting), paper (artist books, altered books, book binding, origami, and zines), leatherwork, and Indian crafts like mendhi and kolam/rangoli in their own art and self-care, and in individual, group, and community art therapy practice. The book explores the therapeutic benefits of a range of craft materials and media, as well as craft’s potential to build community, to support individuals in caring for themselves and each other, and to play a valuable role in art therapy practice. Craft in Art Therapy demonstrates that when practiced in a culturally sensitive and socially conscious manner, craft practices are more than therapeutic—they also hold transformational potential.

The ecological concept views that human development is influenced by the environmental context. The relationship between the two is reciprocal and has an important influence on one another, as well as on the conditions of post-pandemic education. The COVID-19 pandemic has had an important impact on human life, particularly on education. Conventional learning patterns shift to online mechanisms which of course have advantages and disadvantages, especially in people in developing countries like Indonesia. Lack of interaction due to the pandemic impacts student behaviour, such as learning and coping difficulties (Pavin Ivanec, T., 2022). An important issue that needs serious attention in education, as well as mental health practices in schools after the pandemic, is human development efforts through education which minimizes inequality in education and the relevance of education which is no longer adequate. This can be achieved if Education is geared toward empowering students to engage with real social issues so as to promote a sustainable future. Schools and all existing stakeholders (guidance and counseling teachers/school counselors) can contribute to facilitating sustainable human development through an ethical dimension and presenting an educational model that is able to build students’ self-confidence (Curry-Stevens, 2007). In the end, it is hoped that the efforts of this educational institution can support the achievement of the SDGs, especially in the area of education, which has been proclaimed since the 2000s through the millennium declaration by countries in the world.

Teach you a portable Six-Step Button Therapy Method to utilize anytime and anywhere you have a Button pushed which causes emotional distress. Help you become more conscious, aware, loving, and compassionate. Improve your interpersonal relationships. Facilitate your journey of personal and spiritual growth. Early Acclaim for The Button Therapy Book Improve Your Quality of Life and Parenting Skills The Button Therapy Book has made an incredible difference in my attitude and my life. I am able to relax more and don't get as uptight or angry as I used to. I have always been a person who had my "Buttons pushed" fairly easily and now I understand how to identify my Buttons, address them in a calm and loving way and most importantly, get rid of them. I've also been able to take the information given in the book and pass it on to my children to help them overcome their "Buttons." Dr. Goodwin gives the reader all the tools they need to live happier, healthier lives, starting immediately! I highly recommend this book, it is a must for any person who is interested in improving his or her quality of life and getting rid of those buttons! Jodie Wilkerson from Greenville, NC Get Ready to Unbutton and Be Free! Button Therapy, a 'MUST HAVE' for any mental health professional and/or the lay person. I have found many insights in this book and I have recommended it to just about everyone I know. I think that Dr. Goodwin has hit the 'button on the head', and has loosened it's thread with his insightful, caring explanation of our 'Buttons' and how to deal with them. I find myself referring to it regularly in my business. Thanks Lloyd, I am happier, my clients are happier and we all understand others and ourselves better now that we have read your book. We will all be looking forward to your next work! Suzanne Osborne, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist, Forensic Psychologist, Criminal Profiler, Counselor from North Myrtle Beach, SC A Model for Personal and Spiritual Growth The Button Therapy Book is a creative synthesis of Eastern and Western models for personal and spiritual growth. An incredible compilation and synthesis of psychological self-help techniques. You would have to read 10 books to get the information and number of self-help techniques presented in this book. I've personally benefited from applying this practical six-step self-help model to some of my Buttons. The chapter titled "30 Seeds for Your Mind's Garden" is worth the price of this book alone. The "30 Seeds" are guidelines that have been helpful in my journey of personal and spiritual growth. Planting these "life-enhancing seeds" into the gardens of our minds enables us to become more conscious, aware, loving, and compassionate. This is simply the best psychological self-help book I've ever read. I've already recommended this book to my friends. An excellent read! Patricia Pollard, M.P.A., Administrator from Health Sciences Personnel, Brody School of Medicine, East Carolina University, Greenville, NC Button Therapy Book: Good for Self-Helpers and Professionals Goodwin has written a very readable book, which includes a thorough compilation of respected authors, therapists, and philosophers. Those views, augmented with his many years of counseling experience, provide a useful theoretical and practical book for both the mental health professional as well as the individual seeking a good self-help reference and guide, including inventories in the appendix. Stephen K. Creech, Ph.D., Mental Health Professional and Musician from Winterville, NC. Button Therapy I was excited to see three decades of counseling theories, approaches, and strategies in mind-body therapy, brought together in one resource that is readable and accessible for either the lay-reader or counseling professional. This book is unique because it combines psychological research with very usable self-assessments and self-help techniques that can be applied in the "real world". The element that I found most helpful are the "30 Seeds for Your Mind's Garden" in Chapter 21. This presents a summary and cognitive guideline of living life most effectively to its fullest potential. Mark Stebnicki, Rh.D., LPC, CRC, CDMS Professor and Director, Rehabilitation Counselor Education Program, East Carolina University, Greenville, NC A Fantastic Book A super way to learn how to deal with all the Buttons and Button-Pushers in your life. Learn to be a happier, healthier and hopefully a better person all around. Ned Petrak, Financial Advisor, Goldsboro, NC CONGRATULATIONS!!! Congratulations Dr. Goodwin! You've done a wonderful job. I like the holistic nature of this cognitive behavior therapy model. The vast majority of clients I have worked with, see themselves as pawns in this world being blown from one situation to the other with minimal control. They often experience their emotions and actions as responsive to external forces rather than behavioral choices over which they have control. The Button Therapy Book teaches that the locus of most situations is internal and therefore, under our control. Most of us are spiritually empty. I am very positive that they will be able to fill that spiritual void by reading The Button Therapy Book. I will recommend this book to any mental health professional I know. Agyenim A-Boateng, M.S., CRC, CCAS, LPC, Mental Health Professional from Pinehurst, NC An Excellent Guide To Feeling Good! The Button Therapy Book provides techniques that will immediately lift your spirits and help you develop a positive outlook on life. Everyone has Buttons and Button-Pushers. Dr. Goodwin provides a framework to recognize the cognitions (i.e. thoughts, beliefs, etc.) attached to Buttons that produce negative results. Through the 21 Button removal strategies described in the book empowerment is accessible. A great "tool box" for those working in the mental health field as well as for anyone seeking personal growth. If you have the desire to dance to the music of the universe instead of dancing every time somebody pushes your Buttons, buy it, read it, you deserve it! Sharon Williams from Washington, NC Tired of Getting Your Buttons Pushed? The Button Therapy Book is an excellent 'life enhancement manual'. I highly recommend it. Its foundations are based on the teachings of Buddha, Jesus Christ and Ken Keyes Jr. The Button Therapy Book also nicely wraps up the 'best of the best' literature from prominent psychologists, philosophers, and modern day shamans. The fewer 'Buttons

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The profession of occupational therapy has a highly specialised language, but until now there have been no standard definitions of its key terms. Based on the work of the terminology project group of the European Network of Occupational Therapy in Higher Education (ENOTHE), this book selects and defines the core building blocks of occupational therapy theory. Consensus definitions of a wide range of terms are developed through an analysis of published definitions from around the world. Concepts with similar meanings are clustered into groups, and the clusters are then arranged into a conceptual map. The book provides an analysis of what each term means in common usage, how it is used in occupational therapy, and its implications for therapeutic practice. The conceptual framework that emerges represents an important contribution to the profession's understanding of the fundamental concepts of occupational therapy. The consensus definitions presented in this book will facilitate communication between professionals as well as with clients and others, and will be of interest to occupational therapy practitioners, students, educators and researchers.

Book excerpt: Pyrantel Parasiticide Therapy in Humans and Domestic Animals presents a single source history and reference on the parasiticide activity and pharmacology of the tetrahydropyrimidines and their salts in humans and domestic animals, also collating evidence that resistance to pyrantel has developed in human and domestic animal nematodes. Other books of this nature have been compiled historically for specific anthelmintic compounds, but none has been written to date for the pyrantel family of drugs. Pyrantel, a nicotinic receptor agonist, has been used in domestic animal and human medicine since the 1970’s to control two important nematode groups, the hookworms and the roundworms. Given the zoonotic potential of these parasites, pyrantel has served a dual role in helping to protect the health of both domestic animals and the public for more than 45 years. Easy-to-use reference guide on the anthelmintic pyrantel for clinicians, parasitologists, and researchers in human and veterinary medicine Addresses current issues of resistance, along with combination uses against anthelmintic resistant parasites Presents useful, authoritative information (chemical, pharmaceutical, clinical, etc.) for the pyrantel family of compounds Includes a discussion on pyrantel’s potential role in combination therapies Provides cutting-edge material, and will be an evolving area of scientific discussion of treatment options in the future
