Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is nothing in this book that one must do. No advice is given and there are no rules to follow. Where certain actions would ordinarily be advised for self-improvement, the emphasis is on how the human organism heals itself through self-awareness. This awareness is both on the level of ordinary day-to-day consciousness-where we are aware of our shortcomings- and ultimately on the level of Absolute Pure Consciousness, the source and healer of all things. Nature knows how to heal the organism it created, and the ability of self-knowledge it placed within us is the activating factor. This is the simple ability we all have to see and know. I give you what I have learned from Maharishi only to help you see. For from seeing develops knowing and-at the level of Pure Consciousness-knowing accomplishes everything. John C. Hornburg has been an educator and writer most of his adult life and considers himself a teacher through his writing. In the 1970s he wrote two book-length manuscripts on Maharishi's teachings: The Absolute Theory of Golf and Transcendental Christianity. In the 1980s, after several years of teaching Maharishi Transcendental Meditation he presented a self-written series of 28 half-hour lectures on Prescott (Arizona) Public Access Television entitled Consciousness: The Final Frontier. During this period he also wrote and taught several non-credit courses at Yavapai Community College in Prescott, including The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind, The Epic of Gilgamesh, and Understanding Stress: Just Say Know. Also at this time he published two articles in Fellowship in Prayer magazine: The Non-Specific Basis of Ideal Prayer and Resolving Christian Paradox. He served in the U.S. Peace Corps as a secondary school teacher in Ethiopia and Malawi from 1964 to 1966. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Government from the University of Texas (1964) and a Master's in the Science of Creative Intelligence from Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, 2000.

In this journey we will all experience emotional and physical pain and the loss of what we love. How we meet our losses and pains will determine the amount of peace we have in our lives. If we meet them as the hardened warrior or the defeated victim we live from survival and peace escapes us. In Medicine of One, Lomakayu, spiritual teacher, Soul Dreamer, and the originator of primordial movements for emotional healing, offers us a path to spiritual awareness, self-compassion and freedom that is as simple as a Circle. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Inspired by Paul Brunton's years spent with sages in Asia, The Wisdom of the Overself and its companion volume The Hidden Teaching Beyond Yoga were written at the request of these remarkable teachers, who recognized that Brunton had a significant role to play in the transmission of traditional wisdom to the West. Here is a profound re-creation of these teachings, brought to life and made accessible by Brunton's insights. In print since the 1940s, Brunton's works are considered to be among the most comprehensive, clear, and practical guides on the path to enlightenment. Brunton unfolds the grand vision for human development by investigating consciousness as the source of all experience; how to move from ego-centered life to the transcendent reality; the interplay of karma, free will, and grace; the nature of evil and suffering; how to awaken intuition and penetrative insight; the passage through death to rebirth; and psychic experiences and mystic visions. He also provides seven ultramystic exercises to open the door to higher consciousness, including a healing meditation on the sun; practices for transforming the future, dream, and sleep; and a meditation on the timeless self. These techniques lead to the deepest spiritual realizations—to the true "Wisdom of the Overself." This new edition has been updated to incorporate Brunton's final revisions. It includes a new foreword plus supplementary reading material selected from the author's archives by the Paul Brunton Philosophic Foundation. Book excerpt: 1.1 Introduction The modern world, mainly dominated by rapid growth of science and technological innovations is, no doubt, moving towards material world. Technological developments and innovations have made human life materialistic, mechanical, conditioned and controlled. Therefore, a constructivist and progressive approach with broaden horizon may be the only remedy to uplift mankind from its present situation. Education is the only way and means to relate to the whole world, to experience, to understand and attempt to change the perceptions of the world. Education works as the spinal cord for the development of a nation. A nation can be a developed one only if it has strong, comprehensive and diversified education system. Change is the law of nature and life. In the same way education system changes with the passage of time as it is a dynamic concept. In different periods it goes on changing on the foundation of circumstances of the country, i.e. on the basis of educational views of eminent personalities and educationists, as well as the recommendations given by various education commissions and committees.[1] [1]Bhatnagar, Suresh & Saxena, Anamika (2006) Development of Education in India. At times the questions express doubts of the questioner, at other times it is their thirst for knowledge. This volume is like a deep well; one can draw water from its surface and quench one’s thirst, or one can, with effort, break the surface of the water and plunge into its depth where the cool waters are fed from an inexhaustible stream of distilled knowledge that can come only from one who has totally immersed himself in the ocean of wisdom.

Book excerpt: Enlightenment has fascinated people for millenia. *Let Your Soul Sing* overturns the commonly held belief that enlightenment is a state of consciousness possible only for a few rare individuals living in a forest or monastery. It points out that enlightenment is in fact the most natural state of life, available to everyone through simple, effortless meditation techniques that expand human awareness and perception of the truly unified reality of life. This book follows the author s journey on the path of enlightenment and also gives accounts of athletes, artists, musicians, and people from all walks of life who have had spontaneous experiences of higher states of consciousness at some point. Many never had a framework to understand their experiences or to systematically develop them. *Let Your Soul Sing* lays out the systematic knowledge of seven states of consciousness and how they can be easily unfolded through the experience of transcendence. It highlights extensive scientific research that confirms the development of health and brain functioning gained through meditation, and also explains how individuals experiencing inner peace simultaneously contribute to the creation of world peace. The style is easy reading, with anecdotes, quotes, short poems, and analysis of recent world events woven throughout. For more information and to download 2 free chapters, visit: http: //www.enlightenmentforeveryone.com/ "A beautiful synthesis of heart and mind, this book is written from the personal and truthful perspective of an individual who has absorbed the depth and breadth of Maharishi's extraordinarily profound and practical knowledge. It reveals how growth toward enlightenment is expressed through tender, subjective experiences of the transcendent. It also shows how enlightenment may be understood from a completely objective scientific point of view as the progressive refinement and development of total neurophysiological functioning." Dr. Keith Wallace Founding President and Trustee of Maharishi University of Management, Dean of the College of Perfect Health and Professor of Physiology, and author of The Neurophysiology of Enlightenment. "This book is a profound gift. Beautifully written, it gently opens our eyes to who we truly are and guides us in accessing the divine wisdom, peace and bliss within each one of us. Ann Purcell weaves the teachings of Maharishi with her personal journey to provide the keys to transformation." Amy Hatkoff Child and family advocate, parenting educator, filmmaker, and author of The Inner World of Farm Animals; You are My World: How a Parent's Love Shapes a Baby's Mind; and How To Save The Children. "Let Your Soul Sing is a brilliant and simply written reflection on how to live a life of joy, balance, and wholeness. As such, it is a roadmap to personal fulfillment, creative expression, and a gentler, kinder, more balanced world. While Let Your Soul Sing is for everyone, women in particular will find their own essential, divine, nourishing nature reflected back to them through this book." Candace Badgett Chairman of the Global Mother Divine Organization, President of the Global Health Foundation for Women, and Director of The Raj Ayurveda Health Center and Spa"

Most people today have a greater income, as well as more goods and labour - saving devices, than any other generation in history. Yet stress, discontent, personal and social problems abound. Drawing on the deepest discoveries of the Buddhist tradition, well-known retreat master, Christopher Titmuss, suggests we spend far too much time in superficial preoccupaions and not enough in looking deeply into things. He urges us to fearlessly transform the forces of desire and dissatisfaction that haunt our daily lives - and to awaken to the Immeasurable. Inspired by the 20th Century classic, Zend Mind, Beginner's mind, he gives practical advice on such subjects as: understanding our feelings , taking risks, becomming more detached and rediscovering our true selves. And he shows us how to have free, fulfilled and uninhibited lives amidst the frenzy of everyday activity.
