En effet, l'enfant va accéder au langage écrit qui sera la base de toutes les acquisitions ultérieures, et ce tout au long de sa vie. Cette acquisition est donc déterminante quant à l'avenir de l'enfant. C'est dès la maternelle que vont se mettre en place les fondements de l'acquisition de l'écrit. De nombreuses études ont effectivement mis en évidence l'existence de compétences préalables et indispensables à l'apprentissage du langage écrit. Ces aptitudes sont appelées pré-requis. Il existerait des corrélations étroites entre la maîtrise de ces pré-requis et les compétences futures en lecture de l'enfant. Les chances de réussites sont donc inégales et largement influencées par le niveau d'aptitude antérieurement atteint par l'apprenti lecteur. Dans ce mémoire, nous développons les différentes habiletés nécessaires à la bonne acquisition du langage écrit à travers différentes études. Notre travail a porté sur l'observation d'enfants tout-venants suivis en rééducation pour des difficultés ou troubles d'acquisition du langage écrit. La rééducation de ces enfants a été étayée par l'utilisation régulière d'un jeu de remédiation à l'apprentissage de la lecture créé par Mme Etienne, orthophoniste: Rigolettres. Ce jeu permet de revenir à l'origine des difficultés de l'enfant en revenant au niveau des pré-requis jusqu'à la mise en place du code écrit lui-même. Une boîte de jeu contenant différentes formules facilite ainsi l'adaptation et la modularité en fonction des obstacles rencontrés par chaque enfant. Cette approche rééducative, permet de mettre en évidence une progression des performances en lecture, de développer des stratégies, la maîtrise du code alphabétique, l'attention et la concentration ainsi que certaines notions essentielles comme le sens de lecture.
