Download or read book Recipes from Miss Daisy's - 25th Anniversary Edition written by Daisy King and published by Cumberland House Publishing. This book was released on 2003 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For twenty-five years Recipes from Miss Daisy's has been the cookbook of choice for the thousands of people who have enjoyed the warm hospitality and delicious food that were the hallmarks of Miss Daisy's Tearoom in Franklin and in the Green Hills area of Nashville, Tennessee. Now, in response to popular demand, a new edition of the "wonderful little yellow cookbook" has been lovingly prepared for those who have nearly worn out their well-thumbed copies as well as generations of Middle Tennesseans who will continue to enjoy it for years to come. The story of Miss Daisy's Tearoom is as interesting as the food served there. When Carter's Court in Franklin was still on the drawing board, the developers recognized the need for a place where ladies could come for lunch. When a turn-of-the-century house was moved there, people exclaimed, "That's got to be a tearoom," and so it was. The restaurant moved to Green Hills in 1982, expanding to a full-service restaurant, and returning to Franklin in 1986 as Daisy's of Carter's Court. The food in Recipes from Miss Daisy's is the same food that was served at the restaurants, plus some more wonderful dishes that no proper Southerner could resist. Turkey Divan, Buttermilk Pie, Congealed Cucumber Salad, Sally Lunn Muffins, Creamed Chicken, Festive Cranberry Salad, Marinated Carrots, Fudge Pie, Garden Tomato Stuffed with Tearoom Tuna Salad, Miss Daisy's Beef Casserole (a favorite!), and Tomato Aspic are among the Tearoom favorites that have become classic fare for Middle Tennesseans and across the South. Updated to include serving amounts and to clarify some of the original instructions, this 25th anniversary edition of Recipes from Miss Daisy's will earn a well-deserved place in kitchens and on cookbook shelves everywhere.

From computers to shoes to cars, their hands have shaped the fabric of everyday life. First published in the no-holds-barred pages of "Playboy," the interviews are in many cases the most thoughtful and direct these men and women ever gave. All represent an intimate visit with the entrepreneurs who have moved America forward and have shaken the foundations of who Americans believe themselves to be.

Determined to take control, Goldy moves her business to the ritzy Aspen Meadow Country Club. Soon she’s preparing decadent dinners and posh society picnics—and enjoying the favors of Philip Miller, a handsome local shrink, and Tom Schulz, her more-than-friendly neighborhood cop. Until, that is, the dishy doctor drives his BMW into an oncoming bus. Convinced that Philip’s bizarre death was no accident, Goldy begins to sift through the dead doc’s unpalatable secrets. But this case is seasoned with unexpected danger and even more unexpected revelations—the kind that could get a caterer killed. Book Synopsis The Zero-Waste Chef by : Anne-Marie Bonneau
Download or read book The Zero-Waste Chef written by Anne-Marie Bonneau and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2021-04-13 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: *SHORTLISTED for the 2021 Gourmand World Cookbook Award* *SHORTLISTED for the 2022 Taste Canada Award for Single-Subject Cookbooks* A sustainable lifestyle starts in the kitchen with these use-what-you-have, spend-less-money recipes and tips, from the friendly voice behind @ZeroWasteChef. In her decade of living with as little plastic, food waste, and stuff as possible, Anne-Marie Bonneau, who blogs under the moniker Zero-Waste Chef, has preached that "zero-waste" is above all an intention, not a hard-and-fast rule. Because, sure, one person eliminating all their waste is great, but thousands of people doing 20 percent better will have a much bigger impact. And you likely already have all the tools you need to begin. In her debut book, Bonneau gives readers the facts to motivate them to do better, the simple (and usually free) fixes to ease them into wasting less, and finally, the recipes and strategies to turn them into self-reliant, money-saving cooks and makers. Rescue a hunk of bread from being sent to the landfill by making Mexican Hot Chocolate Bread Pudding, or revive some sad greens to make a pesto. Save 10 dollars (and the plastic tub) at the supermarket with Yes Whey, You Can Make Ricotta Cheese, then use the cheese in a galette and the leftover whey to make sourdough tortillas. With 75 vegan and vegetarian recipes for cooking with scraps, creating fermented staples, and using up all your groceries before they go bad--including end-of-recipe notes on what to do with your ingredients next--Bonneau lays out an attainable vision for a zero-waste kitchen.
