This book was released on 2000 with total page 161 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: LE RECEPTEUR RAKE EST LE RECEPTEUR TRADITIONNELLEMENT UTILISE DANS LES SYSTEMES D'ACCES MULTIPLE PAR REPARTITION EN CODE (AMRC) UTILISANT LA METHODE DE SEQUENCE DIRECTE. CE RECEPTEUR EST UN FILTRE ADAPTE A LA CASCADE DU CANAL ET A LA SEQUENCE D'ETALEMENT DE L'UTILISATEUR CONSIDERE. C'EST UN APPAREIL QUI COMBINE LES DIFFERENTS TRAJETS GENERES PAR LE CANAL DE PROPAGATION DE FACON COHERENTE ET QUI EXPLOITE AINSI LA DIVERSITE DES FREQUENCES. LE RECEPTEUR CONSIDERE LES INTERFERENCES CREEES PAR LES UTILISATEURS CONCURRENTS COMME DU BRUIT NON CORRELE. CECI EST DU A L'ETALEMENT DES SYMBOLES DES DIFFERENTS UTILISATEURS PAR LES SEQUENCES QUI SONT FAIBLEMENT INTERCORRELEES. PAR AILLEURS, LA QUASI-ORTHOGONALITE DES SEQUENCES D'ETALEMENT EST DETRUITE PAR LE CANAL DE PROPAGATION ET PAR L'ARRIVEE ASYNCHRONE DES SYMBOLES DES UTILISATEURS. PAR CONSEQUENT, LE CONTROLE DE PUISSANCE EST NECESSAIRE AU BON FONCTIONNEMENT DE CE RECEPTEUR ET PERMET DE DIMINUER LES CONTRIBUTIONS D'INTERFERENCES A LA SORTIE DU FILTRE ADAPTE. LA SITUATION PEUT ETRE ENCORE AGGRAVEE LORSQUE LES PARAMETRES DE TRANSMISSION SONT TELS QUE LE SIGNAL RECU EST CARACTERISE PAR UNE IMPORTANTE INTERFERENCE ENTRE SYMBOLES. DANS LE CADRE DE CETTE THESE, NOUS TRAITONS LE PROBLEME D'ANNULATION D'INTERFERENCES DANS LES SYSTEMES AMRC ET NOUS PROPOSONS COMME ALTERNATIVE LES RECEPTEURS LINEAIRES AVANCES. L'ANNULATION D'INTERFERENCES EST ETUDIEE DANS UN CONTEXTE MULTI-VOIE. CE CONTEXTE SE PRESENTE PAR EXEMPLE LORSQU'ON UTILISE PLUSIEURS ANTENNES A LA RECEPTION OU LORSQU'ON SUR-ECHANTILLONNE LE SIGNAL RECU PAR RAPPORT A LA CADENCE DES SYMBOLES TRANSMIS (FONCTIONNEMENT NORMAL DES SYSTEMES AMRC PAR SEQUENCES DIRECTES) OU PAR RAPPORT A LA CADENCE DES BRIBES. L'IDENTIFICATION AVEUGLE D'UN MODELE MULTI-VOIE EST DESORMAIS RENDUE POSSIBLE GRACE A L'EXPLOITATION DES STATISTIQUES DU SECOND ORDRE PORTANT SUR LA SORTIE VECTORIELLE STATIONNAIRE D'UN CANAL A ENTREES ET SORTIES MULTIPLES (MIMO). NOUS PROPOSONS UN RECEPTEUR LINEAIRE A FORCAGE A ZERO, MINIMISANT L'ERREUR QUADRATIQUE MOYENNE (MMSE-ZF), POUR ANNULER LES INTERFERENCES DU POINT DE VUE DE L'UTILISATEUR CONSIDERE. CE RECEPTEUR EST ADAPTE DE MANIERE AVEUGLE ET DECENTRALISEE. IL POSSEDE DE PLUS L'AVANTAGE D'ETRE RESISTANT AUX FORTES PUISSANCES RECUES EN PRESENCE D'UTILISATEURS INTERFERANTS. NOUS DEMONTRONS QU'UNE ESTIMATION DU CANAL DE L'UTILISATEUR CONSIDERE PEUT EGALEMENT ETRE OBTENUE PAR CET ALGORITHME. CETTE ESTIMATION EST RELATIVEMENT ROBUSTE A LA SUR-DETERMINATION DE L'ORDRE DU CANAL. CEPENDANT, MEME SI L'ESTIMATION EST RELATIVEMENT BONNE, LA PERFORMANCE DU RECEPTEUR RESTE INSUFFISANTE POUR ETRE UTILISE DANS LA PLUPART DES CAS. NOUS DEMONTRONS ALORS QUE LES PERFORMANCES PEUVENT ETRE AMELIOREES EN UTILISANT L'INFORMATION APPORTEE PAR LA SEQUENCE D'APPRENTISSAGE EN CONJONCTION AVEC L'INFORMATION AVEUGLE. ON PARLE ALORS D'UN ALGORITHME SEMI-AVEUGLE. NOUS DEMONTRONS QUE DANS UN TEL CONTEXTE, UN NOMBRE IMPORTANT D'UTILISATEURS INTERFERANTS PEUT ETRE SUPPRIME GRACE AU GRAND NOMBRE DE DEGRES DE LIBERTE INHERENTS A LA LARGEUR DE BANDE D'UN TEL SYSTEME. UN RECEPTEUR AVEUGLE LINEAIRE MAXIMISANT LE RAPPORT SIGNAL-A-INTERFERENCE-PLUS-BRUIT (RSIB) EST AUSSI PROPOSE POUR LE CAS PARTICULIER DE LA LIAISON DESCENDANTE DANS LES SYSTEMES AMRC. ENFIN, NOUS NOUS INTERESSONS AUX PERFORMANCES DE LA LIAISON DESCENDANTE LORSQUE DES ANTENNES ADAPTATIVES SONT UTILISEES A LA STATION DE BASE. L'EMPLOI DE TELLES ANTENNES PERMET UN TRAITEMENT SPATIO-TEMPOREL CONJOINT QUI PRESENTE UN AVANTAGE SIGNIFICATIF PAR RAPPORT A LA TECHNIQUE CLASSIQUE DE FORMATION DE VOIES. FINALEMENT, NOUS APPLIQUONS CE PRINCIPE AUX SYSTEMES AMRC BASES SUR LES MODES DUPLEXES DE DIVISION EN FREQUENCES (DDF) ET EN TEMPS (DDT).

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences was first conceived, published, and dis· seminated by the Center for Information and Numerical Data Analysis and Synthesis (CINDAS) *at Purdue University in 1957, starting its coverage of theses with the academic year 1955. Beginning with Volume 13, the printing and dissemination phases of the ac· tivity were transferred to University Microfilms/Xerox of Ann Arbor, Michigan, with the thought that such an arrangement would be more beneficial to the academic and general scientific and technical community. After five years of this joint undertaking we had concluded that it was in the interest of all concerned if the printing and distribution of the volume were handled by an international publishing house to assure improved service and broader dissemination. Hence, starting with Volume 18, Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences has been disseminated on a worldwide basis by Plenum Publishing Corporation of New York, and in the same year the coverage was broadened to include Canadian universities. All back issues can also be ordered from Plenum. We have reported in Volume 20 (thesis year 1975) a total of 10,374 theses titles from 28 Canadian and 239 United States universities. We are sure that this broader base for theses titles reported will greatly enhance the value of this important annual reference work. The organization of Volume 20 is identical to that of past years. It consists of theses titles arranged by discipline and by university within each discipline.

Book excerpt: Suitable for both individual and group learning, Engineering Acoustics focuses on basic concepts and methods to make our environments quieter, both in buildings and in the open air. The author’s tutorial style derives from the conviction that understanding is enhanced when the necessity behind the particular teaching approach is made clear. He also combines mathematical derivations and formulas with extensive explanations and examples to deepen comprehension. Fundamental chapters on the physics and perception of sound precede those on noise reduction (elastic isolation) methods. The last chapter deals with microphones and loudspeakers. Moeser includes major discoveries by Lothar Cremer, including the optimum impedance for mufflers and the coincidence effect behind structural acoustic transmission. The appendix gives a short introduction on the use of complex amplitudes in acoustics.
