Book excerpt: The BaBar detector at SLAC PEP-II asymmetric B-Factory has collected between 1999 and 2002 a data sample of 88 millions {Upsilon}(4S) {yields} B{bar B} decays. We present here recent measurements of branching fractions and time-dependent CP-violating asymmetries of neutral B mesons decays to several CP eigenstates. We present the results on the decays to (c{bar c}) K{sub S}{sup 0}/K{sub L}{sup 0}, which are related in the Standard Model to the angle {beta} of the Unitarity Triangle of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa quark mixing matrix. Moreover we present the branching fractions and the CP-asymmetries of charmless two body decays related to the angle {alpha}.

They discuss the latest measurement of the time-dependent CP-violating asymmetries in neutral B decays to several CP eigenstates, that in the Standard Model (SM) is proportional to sin 2[beta]. They present measurements of branching fractions and CP-violating asymmetries in neutral B decays to two-body final states of charged pions and kaons, that are related to the angle [alpha] of the Unitarity Triangle. They also report the B[sup 0] lifetime measurement obtained from studying the B[sup 0] [yields] D*[sup -] [pi][sup +] and B[sup 0] [yields] D*[sup -] [rho][sup +] decay channels and the B[sup 0] [yields] D*[sup -] a[sub 1][sup +] branching fraction, obtained using a partial reconstruction technique. These measurements serve as a test and validation of the procedures required to measure the combination of CKM Unitarity Triangle angles sin(2[beta] + [gamma]).

Book excerpt: The BABAR detector, which operates at the SLAC PEP-II asymmetric e[sup+]e[sup -] collider at energies near the[Upsilon](4S) resonance, started operation on the 26th of May 1999. They present the first study of sin2[beta], with samples of B[sup 0][yields] J/[psi] K[sub s][sup 0] and B[sup 0][yields][psi](2S) K[sub 2][sup 0] decays, using 9.0 fb[sup -1] of data recorded between January and July 2000 at the[Upsilon](4S) resonance and 0.8 fb[sup -1] recorded 40 MeV below the[Upsilon](4S) resonance. A preliminary result of sin2[beta]= 0.12[+-] 0.37(stat)[+-] 0.09(syst) was obtained. Details of the analysis are given. Moreover, they present measurements of charged and neutral B meson lifetimes and B[sup 0][bar B][sup 0] oscillation frequency.
