Book Synopsis Control Problems of Discrete-Time Dynamical Systems by : Yasumichi Hasegawa
Download or read book Control Problems of Discrete-Time Dynamical Systems written by Yasumichi Hasegawa and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-01-20 with total page 241 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph deals with control problems of discrete-time dynamical systems which include linear and nonlinear input/output relations In its present second enlarged edition the control problems of linear and non-linear dynamical systems will be solved as algebraically as possible. Adaptive control problems are newly proposed and solved for dynamical systems which satisfy the time-invariant condition. The monograph provides new results and their extensions which can also be more applicable for nonlinear dynamical systems. A new method which produces manipulated inputs is presented in the sense of state control and output control. To present the effectiveness of the method, many numerical examples of control problems are provided as well.

This book was released on 2007-07-13 with total page 462 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Physical, safety and technological constraints suggest that control actuators can neither provide unlimited amplitude signals nor unlimited speed of reaction. The techniques described in this book are useful for industrial applications in aeronautical or space domains, and in the context of biological systems. Such methods are well suited for the development of tools that help engineers to solve analysis and synthesis problems of control systems with input and output constraints.

Book Synopsis Algebraically Approximate and Noisy Realization of Discrete-Time Systems and Digital Images by : Yasumichi Hasegawa
Download or read book Algebraically Approximate and Noisy Realization of Discrete-Time Systems and Digital Images written by Yasumichi Hasegawa and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2009-09-30 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph deals with approximation and noise cancellation of dyn- ical systems which include linear and nonlinear input/output relationships. It also deal with approximation and noise cancellation of two dimensional arrays. It will be of special interest to researchers, engineers and graduate students who have specialized in ?ltering theory and system theory and d- ital images. This monograph is composed of two parts. Part I and Part II will deal with approximation and noise cancellation of dynamical systems or digital images respectively. From noiseless or noisy data, reduction will be made. A method which reduces model information or noise was proposed in the reference vol. 376 in LNCIS [Hasegawa, 2008]. Using this method will allow model description to be treated as noise reduction or model reduction without having to bother, for example, with solving many partial di?er- tial equations. This monograph will propose a new and easy method which produces the same results as the method treated in the reference. As proof of its advantageous e?ect, this monograph provides a new law in the sense of numerical experiments. The new and easy method is executed using the algebraic calculations without solving partial di?erential equations. For our purpose, manyactualexamplesofmodelinformationandnoisereductionwill also be provided. Using the analysis of state space approach, the model reduction problem may have become a major theme of technology after 1966 for emphasizing e?ciency in the ?elds of control, economy, numerical analysis, and others.

Book Synopsis The Image of the City by : Kevin Lynch
Download or read book The Image of the City written by Kevin Lynch and published by MIT Press. This book was released on 1964-06-15 with total page 212 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The classic work on the evaluation of city form. What does the city's form actually mean to the people who live there? What can the city planner do to make the city's image more vivid and memorable to the city dweller? To answer these questions, Mr. Lynch, supported by studies of Los Angeles, Boston, and Jersey City, formulates a new criterion—imageability—and shows its potential value as a guide for the building and rebuilding of cities. The wide scope of this study leads to an original and vital method for the evaluation of city form. The architect, the planner, and certainly the city dweller will all want to read this book.

Book Synopsis Digital Image Processing with C++ by : David Tschumperle
Download or read book Digital Image Processing with C++ written by David Tschumperle and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2023-03-23 with total page 309 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Digital Image Processing with C++ presents the theory of digital image processing, and implementations of algorithms using a dedicated library. Processing a digital image means transforming its content (denoising, stylizing, etc.), or extracting information to solve a given problem (object recognition, measurement, motion estimation, etc.). This book presents the mathematical theories underlying digital image processing, as well as their practical implementation through examples of algorithms implemented in the C++ language, using the free and easy-to-use CImg library. Chapters cover in a broad way the field of digital image processing and proposes practical and functional implementations of each method theoretically described. The main topics covered include filtering in spatial and frequency domains, mathematical morphology, feature extraction and applications to segmentation, motion estimation, multispectral image processing and 3D visualization. Students or developers wishing to discover or specialize in this discipline, teachers and researchers wishing to quickly prototype new algorithms, or develop courses, will all find in this book material to discover image processing or deepen their knowledge in this field.
Book Synopsis Digital Signal Processing and Control and Estimation Theory by : Alan S. Willsky
Download or read book Digital Signal Processing and Control and Estimation Theory written by Alan S. Willsky and published by MIT Press (MA). This book was released on 1979 with total page 280 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of this book is to explore several specific areas of research in two distinct but related fields: digital signal processing and modern control and estimation theory. There are enough similarities "and" differences in the philosophies, goals, and analytical techniques of the two fields to indicate that a concerted effort to understand these better might lead to some useful interaction and collaboration among researchers. The author writes that his examination "will in general not be result-oriented. Instead, I have been most interested in understanding the goals of the research and the methods and approach used. Understanding the goals may help us to see why the techniques used in the two disciplines differ. Inspecting the methods and approaches may allow one to see areas in which concepts in one field may be usefully applied in the other. The book undoubtedly has a control-oriented flavor, since it reflects the author's background and also since the original purpose of this study was to present a control theorist's point of view at the 1976 Arden House Workshop on Digital Signal Processing. However, an effort has been made to explore avenues in both disciplines in order to encourage researchers in the two fields to continue along these lines."Indeed, the book contains numerous suggestions for new research directions and speculations on possible new results, all of them a direct result of the purposeful mixing of the ideas of the two disciplines. For the benefit of researchers who may wish to follow up some of these suggestions and speculations, the author has assembled a comprehensive bibliography, consisting of more than 600 references. In order to achieve his unique perspective of viewing each field in the context of the other, the author examines such topics as stability analysis of feedback control systems and digital filters subject to the effects of finite wordlength arithmetic; linear prediction, parameter identification, and relationships involving Kalman filtering and "fast" algorithms; system synthesis, realization, and implementation; two-dimensional filtering, decentralized control and estimation, and some of their connections with image processing; and aspects of nonlinear system theory, including homomorphic and bilinear systems.
