This book was released on 1961 with total page 23 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The interaction of tri-iron dodecacarbonyl, Fe3 (CO)12, with octafluorocyclohexa-1,3- or 1,4-dienes forms a compound C6F8Fe(CO)3 which must be formulated as a pi-bonded olefin complex. In contrast, the interaction of tetrafluoroethylene with Fe3(CO)12 gives a compound C4F8Fe(CO)4 in which the iron atom is bound to carbon by sigma-bonds in a perfluorocycloalkane ring. Infrared, high-resolution nuclear magnetic resonance and mass spectroscopic studies support these formulations. Products from the interaction of C2F4 with Co2(CO)8 and (pi-C5H5)2Co and of the latter with CF3I are described. (Author).
Book Synopsis Fluorocarbon and Related Chemistry by : R E Banks
Download or read book Fluorocarbon and Related Chemistry written by R E Banks and published by Royal Society of Chemistry. This book was released on 2007-10-31 with total page 318 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Specialist Periodical Reports provide systematic and detailed review coverage of progress in the major areas of chemical research. Written by experts in their specialist fields the series creates a unique service for the active research chemist, supplying regular critical in-depth accounts of progress in particular areas of chemistry. For over 80 years the Royal Society of Chemistry and its predecessor, the Chemical Society, have been publishing reports charting developments in chemistry, which originally took the form of Annual Reports. However, by 1967 the whole spectrum of chemistry could no longer be contained within one volume and the series Specialist Periodical Reports was born. The Annual Reports themselves still existed but were divided into two, and subsequently three, volumes covering Inorganic, Organic and Physical Chemistry. For more general coverage of the highlights in chemistry they remain a 'must'. Since that time the SPR series has altered according to the fluctuating degree of activity in various fields of chemistry. Some titles have remained unchanged, while others have altered their emphasis along with their titles; some have been combined under a new name whereas others have had to be discontinued. The current list of Specialist Periodical Reports can be seen on the inside flap of this volume.

Book Synopsis Advances in Organometallic Chemistry by :
Download or read book Advances in Organometallic Chemistry written by and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 1999-10-14 with total page 390 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A widely-acclaimed serial, Advances in Organometallic Chemistry contains authoritative reviews that address all aspects of organometallic chemistry, a field which has expanded enormously since the publication of Volume 1 in 1964. Almost all branches of chemistry and material science now interface with organometallic chemistry--the study of compounds containing carbon-metal bonds. Organometallic compounds range from species which are so reactive that they only have a transient existence at ambient temperatures to species which are thermally very stable. Organometallics are used extensively in the synthesis of compounds on both large and small scales. Industrial processes involving plastics, polymers, electronic materials, and pharmaceuticals all depend on advancements in organometallic chemistry.
