Book Synopsis Radio Frequency Multiple Access Techniques Made Easy by : Saleh Faruque
Download or read book Radio Frequency Multiple Access Techniques Made Easy written by Saleh Faruque and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-08-27 with total page 84 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a comprehensive overview of multiple access techniques used in the cellular industry. The usage of multiple access techniques in telecommunications enables many users to share the same spectrum in the frequency domain, time domain, code domain or phase domain. Licenses are given, by the FCC, to operate wireless communication systems over given bands of frequencies, with the smaller bands, (channels), reused to provide services to other users. Thus, bandwidth efficiency is vital, as the speed and size of digital data networks continue to expand. This brief also uses numerous illustrations to bring students up-to-date in the practical applications of multiple access techniques, which can then be put to work in the industry. Primarily, electrical engineering students who study telecommunications, as well as engineers and designers working in wireless communications, would find this book useful.

Book Synopsis Free Space Laser Communication with Ambient Light Compensation by : Saleh Faruque
Download or read book Free Space Laser Communication with Ambient Light Compensation written by Saleh Faruque and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-04-17 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book addresses 5G network capacity requirements with a new architecture for 5G Optical Backhaul Network. The author first describes the challenges for 5G backhaul network requirements and then the details of an Optical Backhaul Network for 5G. The author describes an architecture, in which small cells deploy as a cluster (i.e., 3-5 small cells in one cluster), where one small cell works as an aggregation point using an optical transceiver to backhaul the aggregated traffic to the nearest optical network unit, before it then goes to the core network. This book also illustrates the optical link budget analysis that can be used to determine the availability and the performances of the optical backhaul link in different deployment scenarios and different weather conditions. Provides a single-source reference to the basics of free space laser communication with ambient light compensation; Offers timely information, blending theory and practice; Written to be accessible to readers with varying backgrounds, including numerous illustrations; Provides hands-on experience through practical examples, which can be put to work to deploy and optimize cellular networks.

Book Synopsis Error-Control Coding for Data Networks by : Irving S. Reed
Download or read book Error-Control Coding for Data Networks written by Irving S. Reed and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 554 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of Error-Control Coding for Data Networks is to provide an accessible and comprehensive overview of the fundamental techniques and practical applications of the error-control coding needed by students and engineers. An additional purpose of the book is to acquaint the reader with the analytical techniques used to design an error-control coding system for many new applications in data networks. Error~control coding is a field in which elegant theory was motivated by practical problems so that it often leads to important useful advances. Claude Shannon in 1948 proved the existence of error-control codes that, under suitable conditions and at rates less than channel capacity, would transmit error-free information for all practical applications. The first practical binary codes were introduced by Richard Hamming and Marcel Golay from which the drama and excitement have infused researchers and engineers in digital communication and error-control coding for more than fifty years. Nowadays, error-control codes are being used in almost all modem digital electronic systems and data networks. Not only is coding equipment being implemented to increase the energy and bandwidth efficiency of communication systems, but coding also provides innovative solutions to many related data-networking problems.
Book Synopsis Network Control and Engineering for QoS, Security and Mobility by : Dominique Gaïti
Download or read book Network Control and Engineering for QoS, Security and Mobility written by Dominique Gaïti and published by Springer. This book was released on 2013-04-17 with total page 481 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Service and network providers must be able to satisfy the demands for new services; improve the quality of service; reduce the cost of network service operations and maintenance; control performance; and adapt to user demands. It is essential to investigate different approaches for performing such tasks. One of these approaches is based on policies and the capability of the network to adapt itself to current conditions. With a focus on policy-based networking, this volume addresses the problem of network control and the introduction of policies such as the control of the Quality of Service, security, mobility, performance, mobile and intelligent agents, and traffic engineering. The area of control in networks through policies promises to provide stimulating challenges for years to come. This book is an attempt to answer questions and provide some direction about the best approaches to be followed. This volume contains the proceedings of the first International Conference on NETwork CONtrol and Engineering (NETCON) for Quality of Service, Security and Mobility, which was sponsored by the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP), and organized by IFIP TC6 Working Group 6.7 (Smart Networks). The conference convened in Paris, France in October 2002.
