Il s'agissait alors d'instituer une police sociale de la concurrence internationale, propre à empêcher que celle-ci ne détériore les conditions de travail des hommes. Avec la « globalisation », le régime du travail dépend des échanges internationaux, provoquant une extension du travail salarié, mais aussi la déstabilisation de ses formes traditionnelles, la montée en puissance du chômage et d'un travail dit « informel ». La révolution numérique et les nouvelles formes de « rationalisation » du travail donnent jour à des types inédits d'aliénation et de risques pour la santé, mais peuvent ouvrir des opportunités nouvelles pour une plus grande liberté dans le travail. Ce colloque a examiné les grandes évolutions depuis un siècle, au regard des formes nouvelles de déshumanisation du travail." --
