Book excerpt: CONTEXTE Le stage chez le praticien correspond au premier stage effectué par l'interne de médecine générale auprès de praticiens généralistes agrées dans un cabinet de médecine générale ambulatoire. Il est obligatoire pour la validation du DES de Médecine Générale. A Lille, il s'effectue au 2e ou 3e semestre. L'objectif de l'étude est de déterminer les critères guidant les choix des internes pour ce stage. METHODOLOGIE Cette thèse est quantitative descriptive transversale simple, faite à l'aide d'un questionnaire fermé élaboré à partir de l'analyse de données qualitatives recueillies lors d'une thèse précédemment écrite. le questionnaire a été distribué lors de la répartition de Mai 2013. RESULTATS 92 questionnaires sur 107 ont été recueillis. Pour 80,46 % des internes, ce stage était le stage clé de leur maquette. Les déterminants majeurs de choix de stage se composaient essentiellement de convenances personnelles où la distance était prépondérante dans leur choix pour 98,89 % des internes. Ce critère était tout de même à pondérer par le gain pédagogique attendu car 76,67 % pouvaient choisir un stage éloigné si ce dernier leur apportait l'assurance d'un gain pédagogique. Le format du stage, changement de maître de stage tous les 2 mois ou alternance des trois maîtres de stage sur une semaine pendant 6 mois comptait également parmi les critères majeurs pour 76,67 % des internes. Le choix du maître de stage ne comptait pas comme critère déterminant pour 71,59% des internes. Le type d'activité était un critère majeur de choix de stage avec 84,44 % pour un secteur d'activité et 73,03 % pour un type d'installation. Mais au final, malgré tous ses critères, 67,07% des internes déploraient le fait qu'ils avaient fini par choisir leur stage au hasard. CONCLUSION Cette étude a permis de confirmer la plupart des résultats obtenus lors de la partie qualitative du projet. Des outils d'aide au choix plus performants permettraient d'éviter que 2/3 des internes effectuent leur choix de stage au hasard alors que ce stage apparaît pour beaucoup d'internes de médecine générale comme le stage clé de leur maquette.
