The impressive emergence and the important demand of the rising generation of real-time Multi-service (such as Data, Voice VoD, Video-Conference, etc.) over communication heterogeneous networks, require scalability while considering a continuous QoS. This book presents and explains all the techniques in new generation networks which integrate efficient global control mechanisms in two directions: (1) maintain QoS requirements in order to maximize network resources utilization, and minimize operational costs on all the types of wired-wireless-mobile networks used to transport traffic, and (2) mix the QoS associated with home, access, and core networks in order to provide Quality of Service/Quality of Experience expected by users of new services.

Ainsi, en est-il si un opérateur en place dégrade un service concurrent de téléphonie sur Internet, tel que Skype. Le droit de la concurrence permet a priori de sanctionner un tel comportement anti-concurrentiel. Mais cela suffit-il à assurer la neutralité des réseaux ? Par ailleurs, l’augmentation rapide du trafic et l’ampleur des investissements à faire dans les infrastructures du futur incitent les opérateurs à limiter les débits de base, tout en garantissant la qualité de services spécialisés, par exemple de vidéoconférence. Cette différenciation des offres a un prix. On s’éloigne du principe originel de l’Internet qui veut que toutes les communications soient traitées de la même manière. Depuis quelques années, des académiques et pionniers de l’Internet dénoncent le risque d’un Internet « à plusieurs vitesses ». Aujourd’hui, les voix des consommateurs se font entendre. Faut-il adopter une législation spécifique ? Le cadre actuel des télécommunications en Europe suffit-il pour garantir la neutralité ? Mais d’abord, comment définir la neutralité de l’Internet ? Telles sont quelques-unes des questions que cet ouvrage examine à un moment où la neutralité de l’Internet revient dans l’actualité. En juin 2013, la Commission européenne a en effet affiché sa volonté de légiférer en la matière. Le présent recueil de contributions vient donc à point nommé. This book summarizes the state of discussions regarding net neutrality in Europe. The main concern of clustering approaches for mobile wireless sensor networks (WSNs) is to prolong the battery life of the individual sensors and the network lifetime. For a successful clustering approach, the need of a powerful mechanism to safely elect a cluster head remains a challenging task in many research works that take into account the mobility of the network. In Mobile, Wireless and Sensor Networks: A Clustering Algorithm for Energy Efficiency and Safety, the authors use an approach based on computing of the weight of each node in the network as the proposed technique to deal with this problem. They present a virtual laboratory platform (VLP) of baptized mercury, allowing students and researchers to make practical work (PW) on different aspects of mobile wireless sensor networks. The authors’ choice of WSNs is motivated mainly by the use of real experiments needed in most college courses on WSNs. These usual experiments, however, require an expensive investment and many nodes in the classroom. The platform presented here aims at showing the feasibility, the flexibility, and the reduced cost using the authors’ approach. The authors demonstrate the performance of the proposed algorithms that contribute to the familiarization of the learners in the field of WSNs. The book will be a valuable resource for students in networking studies as well as for faculty and researchers in this area.
