Dabei wird in der Bearbeitung der Fokus auf die Vorbeugung von Chronifizierungsprozessen sowie der Minimierung der Auswirkungen solcher Prozesse gelegt. Die theoretischen Erkenntnisse lassen darauf schließen, dass die klinische Sozialarbeit einen bedeutenden Beitrag angesichts der Behandlungsgrundlagen und der Wirksamkeit psychosozialer Therapien leisten kann, indem sie die bio-psycho-soziale Perspektive als Grundlage ihres Handelns sieht und somit der sozialen Dimension der Erkrankung mehr Aufmerksamkeit zukommen lässt. Ebenso die modernen Behandlungsansätze, wie Recovery und die bedürfnisangepasste Behandlung aus den skandinavischen Ländern, scheinen die Perspektive der klinischen Sozialarbeit einzuschließen. Anzumerken ist jedoch, dass der ausschließliche Einsatz psychosozialer Interventionen kein Ziel moderner Entwicklungen sein, sondern lediglich die Behandlungsmöglichkeiten der Sozialpsychiatrie durch die soziale und psychologische Dimension erweitern soll.

While much work has focused on the changes wrought by globalization—describing how people maintain foundations or are permanently destabilized—this collection theorizes the complex ways individuals negotiate their identities and create alliances in the midst of both stability and instability, as what the editors call trans-status subjects.
