This book, Positive Psychosomatics, is - out of 31 other monographs Peseschkians main clinical book on the application of Positive Psychotherapy in the understanding and treatment of different disorders and illnesses. The authors model to focus on the resources and positive aspects of conflicts - together with a transcultural perspective in the form of proverbs, myths and fables and the use of special techniques and practical tools, have made not only the book, but this approach very successful in the treatment of patients with somatic, somatoform and neurotic disorders. Forty different disorders are explained in detail and also their therapeutic approach. A questionnaire at the end of each chapter gives the therapist and his patients a clear guideline in their hands. Revised edition: International Academy for Positive and Transcultural Psychotherapy Peseschkian Foundation, Wiesbaden, Germany

Book Synopsis Psychoanalytic Therapy in the Hospital Setting (RLE: Group Therapy) by : Paul L. Janssen
Download or read book Psychoanalytic Therapy in the Hospital Setting (RLE: Group Therapy) written by Paul L. Janssen and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2014-09-19 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Though the impetus for psychoanalytic and group-analytic inpatient psychotherapy largely came from Britain, it was in Germany that this work was supported, developed and researched to a greater extent than elsewhere. Originally published in English for the first time in 1994, Paul Janssen describes the different models which had been tried and evaluated and explains his own integrative model in detail, illustrating it with vivid clinical vignettes. The author also shows that inpatient groups are particularly effective in the treatment of severe personality disorders, borderline conditions and psychosomatic illness. This book will still be valuable reading for psychiatrists, psychotherapists, nurses, social workers and anyone working in healthcare today.
Book Synopsis From Physicians’ Professional Ethos towards Medical Ethics and Bioethics by : Corinna Delkeskamp-Hayes
Download or read book From Physicians’ Professional Ethos towards Medical Ethics and Bioethics written by Corinna Delkeskamp-Hayes and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-02-01 with total page 338 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book assembles essays by thinkers who were at the center of the German post World War II development of ethical thought in medicine. It records their strategies for overcoming initial resistance among physicians and philosophers and (in the East) politicians. This work traces their different approaches, such as socialist versus liberal bioethics; illustrates their attempt to introduce a culture of dialogue in medicine; and examines their moral ambiguities inherent to the institutionalization of bioethics and in law. Furthermore, the essays in this work pay special attention to the problem of ethics expertise in the context of a pluralism, which the intellectual mainstream of the country seeks to reduce to “varieties of post-traditionalism". Finally, this book addresses the problem of “patient autonomy”,and highlights the difficulty of harmonizing commitment to professional integrity with the project of enhancing physician’s responsiveness to suffering patients. As these essays illustrate, the development of bioethics in Germany does not follow a linear line of progressiveness, but rather retains a sense of the traditional ethos of the guild. An ethos, however, that is challenged by moral pluralism in such a way that, even today, still requires adequate solutions. A must read for all academics interested in the origins and the development of bioethics.
