The idea of a psyche within and the world outside us is so evident and true that, from a tight knot, it became part of the fabric of our knowledge. Put in other words, our belief in separation and independence of psyche and matter is so natural and immediate that resists situations that challenge its veracity. These situations, in turn, held on to us and became new knots that are now part of our fabric of knowledge. We must face our fear of not knowing, loosening such knots in order to enrich with new motifs the composition of this fabric, which insists in opening up and expanding. The phenomenon of synchronicity and the discoveries of quantum physics compel us to re-evaluate our scientific truths based on deterministic parameters. Synchronicity, as described by Jung, is a connection between a psychic, subjective event, and an external physical event, according to its meaning and not due to cause and effect. Inserted into an acausal order, it raises questions on the relationship between psyche and matter. The findings of quantum physics also demand from us new ways of seeing reality. The psyche of the observer has proven crucial, affecting the results of experimentation with matter, pointing out once again the interaction of psyche and matter. How can we ignore these findings? We can say that physics has explored the objectivity of matter leading to the psychic, while depth psychology moved towards subjectivity and found objective patterns of the psyche, the archetypes that make up the collective unconscious.

Book excerpt: Throwing light on the mysterious phenomenon of crop circles within the context of modern psychological reality, Crop Circles, Jung, and the Reemergence of the Archetypal Feminine in an engaging look at the science, history, and symbolic nature of the mystery of these annually occurring giant-scale works of art. Gary S. Bobroff offers a framework for the reader's own deeper consideration of crop circles by examining both the phenomenon itself and the nature of the era into which it has arrived, with special consideration of its relevance to Jungian archetypal psychology. Living in the moment of the death of one worldview and the birth of another, our culture suffers from a hyper-masculine inflation that has us alienated, imagining ourselves to be separate from each other and the earth. Today we are presented with environmental, social, and spiritual crises and mysteries that call us back toward closer participation with the world. Crop Circles--formed in living grain--exemplify the archetypal feminine nature of this moment's change: a calling toward conscious, felt engagement with a dynamic, living, mysterious world. Placing this modern "dream" into the context of modern reality, Crop Circles, Jung, and the Reemergence of the Archetypal Feminine considers what it means to live in an era of strange encounters with energies larger than ourselves. They are complex works of art on a grand scale, yet these mysterious circles are thought to be a hoax. Book excerpt: Each summer all over the world, gigantic and magnificent works of art are sculpted in fields of wheat, barley and other crops. Usually formed under the veil of darkness, in the few short hours between sunset and sunrise, they become visible as the mists of early morning evaporate under the rays of the sun. But are they elaborate hoaxes or eternal mysteries? World authorities, Karen and Steve Alexander reveal that hidden within the proportions and shapes of many of these spectacular designs are measures and harmonies that have been used for thousands of years in the creation of sacred and holy spaces. This ancient way of using design, measure and proportion is explored here to the full. Sacred geometry, numerology and other mustical concepts long forgotten in modern design are discussed alongside the crop circles in which they have been found. The result is a groundbreaking book that reaches to the heart of these mysteroius creations. Synopsis: The intriguing question hangs on every tongue: are they untouched by human hand? The market remains strong because crop circles are so compelling and because they make this a most beautiful book! There are no other books that focus on the aesthetics of these wonderful creations. Log on to the authors' site to see the full potential of this book. This is a full colour, lavishly illustrated photographic tour de force of crop circle designs. It discusses the fascinating link between the circles' shapes and the concept of Sacred Art and other New Age philosophies. The stunning images are provided by Steve Alexander, who files over the enormous patterns created in the crops, and photographs them within the context of their landscape. His wife Karen describes and explains the meanings of each symbol, and analyses them within the framework of Sacred Art - the spiritual creativity inspired by the world around us.

Book excerpt: The book explores the relationships between the personality traits of Polish university students learning English as a foreign language and their use of language learning strategies (LLS). It provides a solid theoretical background for the investigation of the interface between the two constructs, describes the applied analytical procedures in detail, and reports the results and implications of a large-scale study. Chapter 1 presents multiple perspectives on the investigation of human personality and presents insights from a selection of studies into the role of personality in foreign language learning. Chapter 2 addresses the construct of LLS, while Chapter 3 links strategy use to other individual learner characteristics, with a focus on personality. Chapter 4 sets the methodological framework for the empirical investigation, describes the rationale for conducting the study, and includes a thorough description of analytical procedures. Chapter 5 presents the results of the study and highlights their pedagogical implications. Finally, limitations of the study are presented and some directions for future research are suggested. The monograph will be of interest to scholars investigating the role of personality in SLA as well as graduate and postgraduate students in applied linguistics.

Book excerpt: The Crop Circles in Motion Oracle paints a new picture for "what the crop circles are telling us." This oracle will empower and inspire you to go beyond what you think you know. You can experience the power of the crop circle messages without going into the grain fields. Kaayla Fox takes you into a different kind of research, fluid and unstructured, experimental, and very personal. She shows you how the crop circles communicate through vibrational frequencies that can be understood by looking at their simple geometry and number representation, and applied to everyday living by working with the Golden Mean Sacred Spiral as a guide. This communication from crop circles connects us to our internal motivating energy for breaking patterns that hold back our self-love and love for others, freeing us to fully express our creative force in the world. She was drawn into the mystery of crop circles by her attraction to the beautiful geometric designs. After several years of transforming these images into fine sterling jewelry, she discovered that the jewelry pieces had particular vibrational qualities that could assist us with our personal lives, just like the field crop circles were reported to have. Validation from friends and customers inspired her discipline and by trusting her intuition, she found the freedom to experiment, to question, and to explore the unknown realities. By following up with research into the frequency of numbers and shapes, quantum realities, and the developmental cycles of evolution, she was able to understand more about her experiences and the responses of her customers and clients. The oracle is contains black and white crop circle images to emphasize their geometry, each having a reference to where and when the crop circle was found. Key words for each design in the book trigger your personal connections to the vibrational information contained in the design. You will find out how to ask questions that help you recognize and release outdated patterns not in harmony with your Divine nature. Using the sacred spiral design found in all of nature, Kaayla leads you through a process that you can comprehend and apply in everyday circumstances to guide your enfoldment. Learn to combine intuition and logic. See these truths revealed: we are not broken and don't need fixing by another; that each person has an innate ability to heal themselves; we each have our own access to Divine Knowledge. Kaayla reminds us, "We all need the support and the guidance of others at certain times in our lives and my job is to help people to connect to their own natural flow and remind them of their abilities. I am dedicated to helping people and the world at large by first continuing my practice of personal spiritual evolvement and then offering my services to those with the desire to grow in awareness and to live a responsible joyful life."

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The title for this book comes from the ancient Aboriginal concept of “song lines” —pathways to another world reached through dreamtime and visionary insight, and encounters with the unknown realm of experience. Veronica Goodchild addresses how dreams, synchronicities, UFO/ET encounters, Crop Circle mysteries, and NDEs all point to the new unfolding vision of reality. She draws on ancient mystery traditions to explore how this metamorphosis is already reflected cross-culturally in Hopi, Aztec, Mayan, Hindu, Tibetan, Maori, Zulu, Dogon, and Egyptian cultures. Songlines of the Soul proposes a new paradigm of reality, a new worldview. The signatures of this new reality are arising both in our own experiences and all around us if only we can stretch wide our stubbornly held perceptions of what is “reality.” As we stand at a crucial turning point in our human history, this book offers hope, a call to awaken and expand our perceptions of the fundamental principles that orchestrate reality. In an age when the answers offered by governments and traditional religion are no longer sufficient, the quest for meaning must—as it always has in the past—arise first through visions, dreams, and journeys to other dimensions of consciousness.

Book excerpt: This extraordinary book, unique in its ambition and scope, delves deep into the mystery of the crop circles which appear every summer in the fertile wheat and barley fields of southern England. Follow leading researcher Michael Green as he tells the story of the crop circles, and uncovers and deciphers the ancient symbols and mandalas encoded in these extraordinary patterns. Be prepared, as the revelations precipitate further questions. Could these glyphs be communications by a Cosmic Intelligence intent on awakening us to the plight of life on planet Earth, and to humanity's divine origin and its infinite potential? Why do crop circles keep appearing in ever larger numbers? Why do their designs keep evolving? If they are portents of change, can we heed their message in time?
