Book excerpt: L'étude de la littérature concernant l'examen post-mortem de la pulpe révèle un caractère inachevé et laisse à penser que les moyens d'études décrits à ce jour ne sont pas en adéquations avec les impératifs du domaine médico-légal (durée et complexité de mise en oeuvre), et pourraient être à l'origine d'une altération du tissu pulpaire. L'objectif de cette étude est donc d'établir un protocole reproductible et court permettant d'observer la pulpe post-mortem sans la dilacérer c'està dire en respectant son intégrité et ses rapports avec la dent. Matériels et méthodes : nous avons prélevé une dent monoradiculée que nous avons inclue dans une résine ultra fluide, la Technovit® 7100, puis en réalisant des coupes de 30um d'épaisseur colorées au Trichrome de Masson. Résultats : il a été possible d'observer en moins de 48 heures le contenu pulpaire. L'image obtenue permet de discerner nettement des structures cellulaires endothéliales et nerveuses sénescentes, une couche odontoblastique, du collagène de la matrice extracellulaire et des zones de vide comblée par la résine d'inclusion. Conclusion : Ce protocole, rapide et simple, semble être une ouverture sur une nouvelle façon d'aborder la pulpe en odontologie légale.

Ainsi, les techniques histologiques de décalcification inclusion en paraffine ou résine apparaissent plus reproductibles que les techniques d'étude de la pulpe extraite de la dent.
