Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The new Dodge Charger, Challenger, and other LX-platform cars bring modern V-8 performance to unparalleled heights, and the new Challenger and Charger Hellcats are the most powerful American production cars today. The outrageous performance and audacious styling has earned a large and dedicated following. However, you can tune and modify the Chrysler 300, Dodge Magnum, Charger, and Challenger for more performance, and for many owners, fast is not fast enough. In the pursuit of a higher-performing LX-platform car, former Mopar Muscle editor Randy Bolig has created this book to show you how to extract ultimate performance from these cars. Chrysler has built more than one million Chargers, Challengers, and other full-size-platform cars starting with the Dodge Magnum and Chrysler 300. These cars offer competent handling, braking, and suspension performance, but they can be made much better through a set of targeted upgrades using better aftermarket equipment. Bolig gives you a comprehensive guide to the cars and engines. He details the features, benefits, and drawbacks of each package or set of upgrades, so you select the best modification for your car, application, and budget. He also covers basic to extreme modifications for the R/T and SRT8 models with the 5.7-, 6.1-, and 6.4-liter Hemi engines. Guidance for installing heads, rotating assemblies, ignition upgrades, higher-performance injectors, and many other parts are provided. But, this book doesn't just discuss performance; it shows you how to do it with comprehensive, step-by-step product installs for a cat-back exhaust system, hand-held ignition tuner, cold-air intake, and supercharger. If you have been searching for the best performance package to make your Charger, Challenger, or full-size Chrysler car stand out from the crowd, you need this book. It has the latest information, so you can learn how to install all the products and get your car back out on the road.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is related to a research conducted in the field of energy alternative resources, where a option source is used as energy source for charging mobile battery. The coin-based mobile battery charger that is being developed in this research would provide a unique service to the rural public where grid power is not available for partial/full daytime and a source of revenue for site providers. The coin-based mobile battery charger would be quickly and easily installed outside any business premises. The mobile phone market is a vast industry, and has spread into rural areas as an essential means of communication. While the urban population uses more sophisticated mobiles with good power batteries lasting for several days, the rural population buys the pre-owned mobile phones that require charging frequently. Many times battery becomes flat in the middle of conversation particularly at inconvenient times when access to a standard charger isn't possible. The coin-based mobile battery chargers would be designed to solve this problem. The user would have to plug the mobile phone into one of the adapters and insert a coin; the phone would then be given a micro-pulse for charging. It would not bring a mobile from 'dead' to fully charged state. The charging capacity of the mobile is designed with the help of pre-defined values. It is, of course, possible to continue charging the mobile by inserting more coins. This compact and lightweight product is designed to cater for the growing number of rural mobile users worldwide. A suitable microcontroller is programmed for all the controlling applications. The source for charging is obtained from direct power grid and solar energy in case of non-availability of grid power.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Incomplete or missed requirements, omissions, ambiguous product features, lack of user involvement, unrealistic customer expectations, and the proverbial scope creep can result in cost overruns, missed deadlines, poor product quality, and can very well ruin a project. Project Scope Management: A Practical Guide to Requirements for Engineering, Product, Construction, IT and Enterprise Projects describes how to elicit, document, and manage requirements to control project scope creep. It also explains how to manage project stakeholders to minimize the risk of an ever-growing list of user requirements. The book begins by discussing how to collect project requirements and define the project scope. Next, it considers the creation of work breakdown structures and examines the verification and control of the scope. Most of the book is dedicated to explaining how to collect requirements and how to define product and project scope inasmuch as they represent the bulk of the project scope management work undertaken on any project regardless of the industry or the nature of the work involved. The book maintains a focus on practical and sensible tools and techniques rather than academic theories. It examines five different projects and traces their development from a project scope management perspective—from project initiation to the end of the execution and control phases. The types of projects considered include CRM system implementation, mobile number portability, port upgrade, energy-efficient house design, and airport check-in kiosk software. After reading this book, you will learn how to create project charters, high-level scope, detailed requirements specifications, requirements management plans, traceability matrices, and a work breakdown structure for the projects covered.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Imagine the dynamics of an international engineering project such as this one: a U.S. group designs, prototypes, and qualifies disk drive heads; wafers for the drive heads are manufactured in the U.S. and sent to Malaysia for subassembly; a South Korean firm assembles these components; the final product, a fully automated disk drive, is completed in Japan. In addition to the global complexities of the project, there are a host of issues in leading the project team spread across continents. Global Engineering Project Management aligns real-world experiences in managing global projects with practical project management principles. The author demonstrates how to anticipate issues, covering everything from start-up planning and supply management to cost containment, post-project evaluation and protecting intellectual property. He explores technologies, virtual teams, traditions, economics, politics, and legal issues in the context of international projects, as well as compares the differences with domestic projects. He also highlights the complications of international bidding, the extra time and effort needed for multi-national team formation and management, and often overlooked project closure tasks. As the world goes global, engineering projects increasingly involve multiple countries, each having unique politics, cultures, and standards that all add layers of complexity to project management. These variables multiply fast and consequently a project manager's responsibilities multiply faster. Examining these challenges from start to finish, the book provides practical advice on how to navigate the issues unique to global engineering project management.
