Book Synopsis The Report on Unidentified Flying Objects by : Edward J Ruppelt
Download or read book The Report on Unidentified Flying Objects written by Edward J Ruppelt and published by Pantianos Classics. This book was released on 2020-05-29 with total page 246 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Project Blue Book was a U.S. government investigation of Unidentified Flying Objects - UFOs. One of the men working on the project was decorated U.S. Air Force officer Edward Ruppelt, and this book contains the findings. The ideas surrounding UFOs were stoked by popular imagination; flying saucers, alien visitation or even abduction, and strange phenomena such as lights or aircraft moving rapidly in the sky. Following World War II, the idea that aliens were regularly appearing in spacecraft, coupled with abundant reports of unexplained objects in the sky, prompted a series of investigations by governments. Project Blue Book was among the most notable, led by Josef Allen Hynek and staffed by officers such as Edward Ruppelt - both of whom were open-minded when identifying these unusual phenomena. Ruppelt's explanations are thorough, explaining what he and his team uncovered in detail over the course of 1952-1954. Finding nothing conclusive in support of UFOs as alien spacecraft, he quotes fellow officer Andy Flues: "Even taking into consideration the highly qualified backgrounds of some of the people who made sightings, there was not one single case which, upon the closest analysis, could not be logically explained in terms of some common object or phenomenon."

Book excerpt: A new edition of the blockbuster book that revealed the top-secret findings of the US government about UFOs. Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, while publicly dismissing the existence of UFOs, the United States Air Force was engaged in a secret program for evaluating every report of unidentified flying objects. Under the code name, Project Blue Book, the Air Force analyzed over 13,000 incidents. The goal of this enterprise was threefold: To determine the cause for each UFO sighting, to assess the security threat for each incident, and to determine how the United States could obtain or create the technology used by UFOs. This book, based on secret files obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, includes accounts of seven of the most important USAF enquiries-- among them the story of the nights the White House was buzzed by UFOs, the mystery of the Lubbock Lights, the full story of Captain Mantell--Ufology's first martyr, and the startling conversion of the prominent astronomer, J. Alan Hynek from UFO skeptic to believer. This is startling and fascinating book that uncovers not only the anatomy of a government cover-up, but also provides stark and chilling evidence that we are not alone. It is all here, government documents, the testimony of scientists, the military, pilots and citizens all over the country who have witnessed UFOS.

Book excerpt: Just as the first wave of flying saucer sightings ended in the summer of 1947, the military began a project to investigate those reports. For twenty-two years, the Air Force attempted to learn what it could about the phenomena they called UFOs. During those years, they investigated more than twelve-thousand sightings including landings, occupant reports, photographs, radar cases, and intercepts by military jet fighters. In many instances plausible explanations were advanced, but nearly one-thousand sightings were marked as unidentified. More importantly, some reports are tagged with labels that don't fit the facts. Too many witnesses were ignored, too much evidence was overlooked, too much misinformation was tacked on so that convenient labels could be attached. These are the cases investigated by Project Blue Book Exposed, and exhaustive study of previously classified files.

Book Synopsis My Little Blue Book of Project Management by : Deji Badiru
Download or read book My Little Blue Book of Project Management written by Deji Badiru and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2014-03 with total page 141 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My Little Blue Book of project management presents a concise and succinct guide for managing projects at home, work, or leisure. It is, indeed, a little blue book. Both personal and corporate projects can benefit from the contents of the book, although the primary focus is on personal projects at home. We tend to be more organized at work than we are at home. Thus, a book focusing on applying project management at home is very much needed. The essential elements of project management are presented in My Little Blue of Project Management, where the common thread for managing any type of project, both big and small, is the personal commitment of the humans to the project at hand. Regardless of the efficacy of the computer tools and analytic techniques available for project management, the underlying foundation for success, in the premise of this book, is personal commitment. If the most effective tools are not used promptly and properly, no amount of wishful practices and corrective actions can make a precarious project successful. My Little Blue Book of project management advocates preempting project problems through advance planning, organizing, resource allocation, scheduling, and control of project activities. For ease of reference, My Little Blue Book of Project Management is organized in seven topical areas of What, Why, Who, Where, When, Which, and How.

Download or read book UFOs written by Leslie Kean and published by Crown. This book was released on 2011-08-02 with total page 362 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Impeccably researched, this riveting journalistic investigation separates fact from fiction, and documents the unexplained mysteries of—and government reactions to—actual UFOs. “A treasure trove of insightful and eye-opening information.”—Michio Kaku, PH.D., bestselling author of Physics of the Future Leslie Kean, a veteran investigative reporter who has spent the past ten years studying the still-unexplained UFO phenomenon, reviewed hundreds of government documents, aviation reports, radar data, and case studies with corroborating physical evidence. She interviewed dozens of high-level officials and aviation witnesses from around the world. Among them, five Air Force generals and a host of high-level sources—including Fife Symington III, former governor of Arizona, and Nick Pope, former head of the British Defence Ministry’s UFO Investigative Unit—have written their own breathtaking, firsthand accounts about UFO encounters and investigations exclusively for this book. With the support of former White House chief of staff John Podesta, Kean lifts the veil on decades of U.S. government misinformation about this mysterious phenomenon and presents irrefutable evidence that unknown flying objects—metallic, luminous, and seemingly able to maneuver in ways that defy the laws of physics—actually exist. With a Foreword by John Podesta “The most important book on the phenomenon in a generation.”—Journal of Scientific Exploration “Written with penetrating depth and insight, the revelations in this book constitute a watershed event in lifting the taboo against rational discourse about this controversial subject.”—Harold E. Puthoff, PH.D., Director of the Institute for Advanced Studies at Austin “Kean presents the most accurate, most credible reports on UFOs you will ever find. She may not have the final smoking gun, but I smell the gunpowder.”—Miles O’Brien, science correspondent for PBS’s NewsHour

Book Synopsis The Best of Project Blue Book by : Kevin Randle
Download or read book The Best of Project Blue Book written by Kevin Randle and published by . This book was released on 2020-03-05 with total page 334 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Best of Project Blue Book examines the evidence for alien visitation that is found in the official Air Force investigation. Using Project Blue Book files as a basis for a new, better investigation, facts that should have been revealed then are uncovered now. Cases that demonstrate that alien visitation is real have been upgraded from the poorly examined facts to a robust argument that some UFOs are spacecraft from other worlds. Information that was neglected or overlooked by the United States Air Force is now available to underscore the importance of these cases. Randle's understanding of the military mindset and his experience as a former United States Air Force intelligence officer provides a compelling case for alien visitation. This is strengthened through the use of the Air Force's own records on the various cases coupled to new information discovered by Randle during his research. For those who believe that we have been visited, here is strong support for that. For those who are skeptical, The Best of Blue Book will be difficult to refute.

Book Synopsis The First UFO Sighting by : Carlos Allende
Download or read book The First UFO Sighting written by Carlos Allende and published by . This book was released on 2020-11-09 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 1947 is considered by most historians of the United States as the year when the Cold War began with the implementation of the "Truman Doctrine" to contain the propagation of world Communism, which give rise to the anti-communist hysteria of the following years. Also, 1947 was the year when the first UFO sightings were reported in the summer. Kenneth Albert Arnold was born on March 29, 1915 in Sebeka, Minnesota, and died on January 16, 1984 at the age of aged 68. He was the owner of Great Western Fire Control Supply in Boise, Idaho that sold and installed fire suppression systems. Also, as a result of the nature of his job that took him around the Pacific Northwest, he uses his experience as pilot to travel in a CallAir A-2 . On June 24, 1947, Arnold was flying from Chehalis, Washington, to Yakima, Washington, in his CallAir A-2 on a business trip. He made a brief detour after learning of a $5,000 reward for the discovery of a U.S. Marine Corps'C-46 transport airplane that had crashed near Mt. Rainier. The skies were completely clear and there was a mild wind. Arnold would later recall, he saw a bright light-just a flash, like a glint of sun as it hits a mirror when the glass is angled just so. It had a blue-ish tinge. At first, he thought the light must have been coming from another plane; when he looked around, though, all he could see was a DC-4. It seemed to be flying about 15 miles away from him. It was not flashing. And then the lights came again-this time, in a series. Nine flashes, in rapid succession. Arnold originally described the objects' shape in many ways as: "flat like a pie pan", "shaped like a pie plate", and also described their erratic motion being "like a fish flipping in the sun" or a saucer skipped across water. From these, the press quickly coined the new terms "flying saucer" and "flying disc" to describe such objects, many of which were reported within days after Arnold's sighting. After his UFO sighting, Arnold became a minor celebrity, and for about a decade. Saucerian Publisher was founded with the mission of promoting books in Science Fiction. Our vision is to preserve the legacy of literary history by reprint editions of books which have already been exhausted or are difficult to obtain. Our goal is to help readers, educators and researchers by bringing back original publications that are difficult to find at reasonable price, while preserving the legacy of universal knowledge. This book is an authentic reproduction of the original printed text in shades of gray. IMPORTANT, despite the fact that we have attempted to accurately maintain the integrity of the original work, the present reproduction has missing and blurred pages, poor pictures and FBI censorship's pencil markings from the original scanned copy. Many of the original FBI documents and Project Blue Book pages are shadowy, and faint Because this book is culturally important, we have made available as part of our commitment to protect, preserve and promote knowledge in the world. Some of the issues could be missing. This edition on Kenneth Arnold is a collection of articles and documents from different sources. Download or read book Drawdown written by Paul Hawken and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2017-04-18 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: • New York Times bestseller • The 100 most substantive solutions to reverse global warming, based on meticulous research by leading scientists and policymakers around the world “At this point in time, the Drawdown book is exactly what is needed; a credible, conservative solution-by-solution narrative that we can do it. Reading it is an effective inoculation against the widespread perception of doom that humanity cannot and will not solve the climate crisis. Reported by-effects include increased determination and a sense of grounded hope.” —Per Espen Stoknes, Author, What We Think About When We Try Not To Think About Global Warming “There’s been no real way for ordinary people to get an understanding of what they can do and what impact it can have. There remains no single, comprehensive, reliable compendium of carbon-reduction solutions across sectors. At least until now. . . . The public is hungry for this kind of practical wisdom.” —David Roberts, Vox “This is the ideal environmental sciences textbook—only it is too interesting and inspiring to be called a textbook.” —Peter Kareiva, Director of the Institute of the Environment and Sustainability, UCLA In the face of widespread fear and apathy, an international coalition of researchers, professionals, and scientists have come together to offer a set of realistic and bold solutions to climate change. One hundred techniques and practices are described here—some are well known; some you may have never heard of. They range from clean energy to educating girls in lower-income countries to land use practices that pull carbon out of the air. The solutions exist, are economically viable, and communities throughout the world are currently enacting them with skill and determination. If deployed collectively on a global scale over the next thirty years, they represent a credible path forward, not just to slow the earth’s warming but to reach drawdown, that point in time when greenhouse gases in the atmosphere peak and begin to decline. These measures promise cascading benefits to human health, security, prosperity, and well-being—giving us every reason to see this planetary crisis as an opportunity to create a just and livable world.
