Book Synopsis Assembly Language Programming for the VAX-11 by : Karen A. Lemone
Download or read book Assembly Language Programming for the VAX-11 written by Karen A. Lemone and published by Little Brown. This book was released on 1983 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a two-part text about assembly language programming in the VAX/MACRO language. Unlike texts that are concerned solely with the assembly language itself, this addresses the design of assemblers, macroprocessors, and linkers. Part I focuses on the fundamentals of assembly language programming in the VAX/MACRO language. It is aimed at the beginning assembly language programmer, conforming with current ACM recommendations concerning these courses. Part II addresses the same subjects from a systems viewpoint, most especially assembler, macroprocessor, and linker design.
Book Synopsis Introduction to Pascal and Structured Design by : Nell B. Dale
Download or read book Introduction to Pascal and Structured Design written by Nell B. Dale and published by Jones & Bartlett Learning. This book was released on 1996-11 with total page 1000 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Introduction to Pascal and Structured Design, provides a concise, accessible introduction to computer science. Using Pascal programming as a tool to shape students' understanding of the discipline, the text offers a strong focus on good programming habits and techniques. The smooth integration of programming essentials, software engineering principles and contemporary theory creates an effective blend for students' first courses in computer science. An emphasis on conceptual understanding, problem solving, and algorithmic design teaches the skills needed for effective program implementation. A wide array of in-text learning aids, including Problem-Solving Case Studies, ample exercises and problems, and nine useful appendices, completes the text. Click here for downloadable student files
Book Synopsis Programming and Problem Solving with Java by : Nell B. Dale
Download or read book Programming and Problem Solving with Java written by Nell B. Dale and published by Jones & Bartlett Learning. This book was released on 2008 with total page 872 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Extensively revised, the new Second Edition of Programming and Problem Solving with Java continues to be the most student-friendly text available. The authors carefully broke the text into smaller, more manageable pieces by reorganizing chapters, allowing student to focus more sharply on the important information at hand. Using Dale and Weems' highly effective "progressive objects" approach, students begin with very simple yet useful class design in parallel with the introduction of Java's basic data types, arithmetic operations, control structures, and file I/O. Students see first hand how the library of objects steadily grows larger, enabling ever more sophisticated applications to be developed through reuse. Later chapters focus on inheritance and polymorphism, using the firm foundation that has been established by steadily developing numerous classes in the early part of the text. A new chapter on Data Structures and Collections has been added making the text ideal for a one or two-semester course. With its numerous new case studies, end-of-chapter material, and clear descriptive examples, the Second Edition is an exceptional text for discovering Java as a first programming language!

Book Synopsis Computer-based Problem Solving Process by : Teodor Rus
Download or read book Computer-based Problem Solving Process written by Teodor Rus and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2015-03-19 with total page 367 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One side-effect of having made great leaps in computing over the last few decades, is the resulting over-abundance in software tools created to solve the diverse problems. Problem solving with computers has, in consequence, become more demanding; instead of focusing on the problem when conceptualizing strategies to solve them, users are side-tracked by the pursuit of even more programming tools (as available).Computer-Based Problem Solving Process is a work intended to offer a systematic treatment to the theory and practice of designing, implementing, and using software tools during the problem solving process. This method is obtained by enabling computer systems to be more Intuitive with human logic rather than machine logic. Instead of software dedicated to computer experts, the author advocates an approach dedicated to computer users in general. This approach does not require users to have an advanced computer education, though it does advocate a deeper education of the computer user in his or her problem domain logic. This book is intended for system software teachers, designers and implementers of various aspects of system software, as well as readers who have made computers a part of their day-today problem solving.

Book Synopsis Computational Mathematical Programming by : Klaus Schittkowski
Download or read book Computational Mathematical Programming written by Klaus Schittkowski and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 455 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book contains the written versions of main lectures presented at the Advanced Study Institute (ASI) on Computational Mathematical Programming, which was held in Bad Windsheim, Germany F. R., from July 23 to August 2, 1984, under the sponsorship of NATO. The ASI was organized by the Committee on Algorithms (COAL) of the Mathematical Programming Society. Co-directors were Karla Hoffmann (National Bureau of Standards, Washington, U.S.A.) and Jan Teigen (Rabobank Nederland, Zeist, The Netherlands). Ninety participants coming from about 20 different countries attended the ASI and contributed their efforts to achieve a highly interesting and stimulating meeting. Since 1947 when the first linear programming technique was developed, the importance of optimization models and their mathematical solution methods has steadily increased, and now plays a leading role in applied research areas. The basic idea of optimization theory is to minimize (or maximize) a function of several variables subject to certain restrictions. This general mathematical concept covers a broad class of possible practical applications arising in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering, physics, economics, medicine, biology, etc. There are both industrial applications (e.g. design of mechanical structures, production plans) and applications in the natural, engineering, and social sciences (e.g. chemical equilibrium problems, christollography problems).
