La presente gestin rectoral, de la Universidad Veracruzana, consciente de la importancia que tiene el vnculo entre la universidad y sus egresados, el aseguramiento de la calidad y la competitividad con estndares internacionales, el mejoramiento del bienestar y fortalecimiento de la identidad de los universitarios, con el propsito de asegurar una oferta educativa de calidad, pertinente y estrechamente relacionada con el entorno local y global. Actualiza y mejora el Programa Institucional de Desarrollo y Seguimiento de Egresados UV (PIDSE UV), en el que se fundamenta este libro: Seguimiento de Egresados una excelente estrategia para garantizar una educacin de calidad, el cual tiene dos propsitos; uno de ellos es dar conocer las bases tericas en que se fundamentan los estudios de seguimientos de egresados para la toma de decisiones que garanticen una educacin de calidad. En consecuencia, se considera objeto de estudio las tendencias laborales de ocupación de Egresados del programa de Tecnología Industrial, ya que definen las competencias laborales que son un punto de encuentro entre los sectores educativo y productivo, por lo que se espera formar los profesionales con los conocimientos y desempeños que les permitan alcanzar su vinculación profesional en el medio laboral, las cuales de definen con relación a las ofertas de la empresas y a las competencias de los egresados en el medio, es así como se plantea diseñar e implementar una metodología sistemática que permita realizar un seguimiento a los graduados del programa de Tecnología ....

Book excerpt: Based on twenty case studies of universities worldwide, and on a survey administered to leaders in 101 universities, this open access book shows that, amidst the significant challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, universities found ways to engage with schools to support them in sustaining educational opportunity. In doing so, they generated considerable innovation, which reinforced the integration of the research and outreach functions of the university. The evidence suggests that universities are indeed open systems, in interaction with their environment, able to discover changes that can influence them and to change in response to those changes. They are also able, in the success of their efforts to mitigate the educational impact of the pandemic, to create better futures, as the result of the innovations they can generate. This challenges the view of universities as "ivory towers" being isolated from the surrounding environment and detached from local problems. As they reached out to schools, universities not only generated clear and valuable innovations to sustain educational opportunity and to improve it, this process also contributed to transform internal university processes in ways that enhanced their own ability to deliver on the third mission of outreach
