Book excerpt: Seminar paper del ano 2013 en eltema Romanistica - Espanol, literatura, cultura general, Nota: 1,3, Justus-Liebig-Universitat Giessen (Institut fur Romanistik), Materia: La Espana politica y social, Idioma: Espanol, Resumen: La crisis economica mundial ha tenido un considerable impacto social en Espana, donde el mercado de trabajo ha mostrado una mayor sensibilidad ante el cambio en el ciclo economico comparado con otros paises europeos. De esta manera, entre los anos 2008 y 2012 se han perdido casi tres millones de puestos de trabajo en total. El resultado es un fuerte aumento del desempleo que alcanza un volumen de 5,6 millones de personas y una tasa del 24% en el ano 2012, llegando a 6,2 millones de personas en 2013, lo que corresponde a un valor porcentual del 27%, segun la Encuesta de la Poblacion Activa (vgl. Requena Aguilar 2013:1; vgl. Rocha Sanchez 2012: I). Sin embargo, la notable destruccion de empleo no afecta de la misma manera a todos los diferentes grupos de edad, el sector de la poblacion que mas sufre por esta situacion son los jovenes. Ya desde hace anos, las tasas de desempleo de los jovenes espanoles son mucho mas elevadas que en el resto de la Union Europea. Asi, el colectivo de los menores de 25 anos es uno de los mas golpeados por la crisis, su tasa de paro llega al 57,2%, lo que significa que aproximadamente un millon de jovenes que desean trabajar no tienen la posibilidad (vgl. Requena Aguilar 2013: 1)

Analizando con más detalle el problema, existen una serie de factores que empeoran la situación laboral de los jóvenes. Este conjunto de factores se divide en dos grandes grupos. Por un lado, se encuentran los que están relacionados con el sistema educativo: la elevada tasa de abandono escolar y la polarización del nivel educativo. Por otro lado, existen aspectos relacionados con el mercado de trabajo que contribuyen a empeorar el paro juvenil, entre ellos se encuentran, el excesivo uso de la contratación temporal y el empobrecimiento juvenil. La solución a este problema requiere de actuaciones por parte del gobierno de España, plasmadas en la reforma laboral y educativa, además de la creación de programas con el objetivo único de reducir el desempleo juvenil. Desde la Unión Europea también se han dado instrucciones para que los Estados Miembros colaboren con las instituciones europeas en la lucha contra el paro juvenil.
