Les différentes situations présentées et les critères de comparaison étudiés n'ont pas mis en évidence de différence significative dans les résultats obtenus. Seule la possibilité d'avoir accès à de l'insuline lors de l'examen du gardé à vue semble avoir eu une incidence notable sur la décision de l'envoyer systématiquement aux urgences, les modalités d'administration de ses traitements ou l'ajustement de ses doses. Discussion : les recommandations actuelles sur la prise en charge d'un patient diabétique en garde à vue sont peu détaillées et en pratique difficiles à mettre en oeuvre. Les résultats n'ont pas non plus laissé entrevoir une prise en charge privilégiée. Pour pallier à cela, un protocole de prise en charge a été proposé après discussion avec une équipe composée d'endocrinologues exerçant à Amiens, reprenant les différentes situations évoquées dans le questionnaire. Conclusion : cette étude a permis de mettre en évidence l'absence de consensus dans la prise en charge des personnes diabétiques traitées par insuline en garde à vue. Le protocole proposé mériterait d'être testé en pratique, sous réserve qu'il ait été établi sur un avis consultatif par un nombre limité de spécialistes.
