Book excerpt: This play is about Lady Diana. It depicts some real life incidences and some imaginary scenes to sound it more dramatic. Except Lady Diana and Dodi, who are no more. There are six main characters from the Royal Family. The fairytale marriage between the Princess Diana and the Prince George ends with the divorce due to his affair with his first love Pamela. When Diana discovers this, feels distressed and betrayed, she tries to find solace in the charity, the purpose which was dear to her heart even before her marriage. In fact, she marries the Prince with that noble intention only. She does not get the desired support of from the Prince and the Royal Family. She tries to commit suicide. She feels frustrated and lonely in the Palace, whereas, feels happy and homely with the common people who are the victims of war and some social evils. The scene depicting the dialogues between the Lady Diana and Dr. Freud suggests the inner conflict at the sub conscious level. She consciously decides to be a commoner! As she was the media attraction, she was often spied and chased by the paparazzi. During the course of charitable work, she comes across some rich and influential people. She falls in love with some of them. The media gave wide publicity to her personal life which proved to be damaging to the Royal Family. The marriage ultimately ended in Divorce. After divorce, her decision to marry the Egyptian millionaire's son invited wrath of the Royal Family. The Destiny played its role and before her remarriage, both of them died in the road accident. . The sub plot relates to the marriage and divorce between the Duke and the Duchess. It is a perfect foil to the main plot as it depicts the estranged Duchess seeking divorce from the Duke who is tolerant enough to accept her extra marital affair for the sake of Royalty. On the other hand, in the main plot, Diana takes a conscious decision of divorce, sacrificing her title and even the right to Queenship. The dictum of the Shakespearean tragedy," the character is Destiny; we are ourselves the makers or the destroyers of our own fortune" is thus proved through the personality traits of the Lady Diana. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The tragic death of Princess Diana of Wales - the most famous, the most photographed, the most written about woman of the modern world and possibly of all time - was one of the most shocking and saddening events of the late Twentieth Century and certainly of the 1990s. Not since the assassination of American President John Fitzgerald Kennedy in 1963, has such an event captured the attention of the world community. On that ill-fated Sunday of 31 August 1997, and the following week until her funeral, there was much talk, discussion, reflection and eulogizing of this Princess of Love, the People's Princess, the Queen of Hearts, England's Rose. But in all of the major media news coverage, there was no discussion given to the underlying cosmic aspects of her life and death. This book is dedicated to addressing those issues through the ancient science and art of numerology, specifically The King's Numerology. Its purpose and hope is to offer some consolation and explanation as to that one question so poignantly written on a card of condolence left with the multitude of flowers before the gates of Buckingham Palace. . . "Why?"

Book excerpt: The tragic death of Diana, Princess of Wales, triggered an unprecedented worldwide outpouring of grief from the public that adored her ever since she was first identified as the girlfriend of the Prince of Wales in 1981. Ever since August 31, 1997, people have struggled to account for the depth of the impact she seemed to have on people's hearts and minds. First the little girl who felt that she had disappointed her family by not being a boy, then the schoolgirl who preferred pranks to studying, then the shy kindergarten teacher who won the heart of Prince Charles, Diana's anonymity ended forever only a few weeks after she began dating the heir to the British throne. Over the next sixteen years, she lived her life in the public eye-a smiling, dutiful royal wife and mother, who eventually rocked the monarchy to its foundations by disclosing the details of her troubled marriage to the world, shining a light on the hidden life of the notoriously private royal family. This book examines the contrast between the private Diana and the public princess-the troubled yet radiant woman who believed that one must suffer in order to have compassion for others.

Book excerpt: Time magazine named Bono and Bill and Melinda Gates their "Persons of the Year." The United Nations tapped Angelina Jolie as a goodwill ambassador. Bob Geldof organized the Live8 concert to push the G8 leaders' summit on AIDS and debt relief. What has come to be called "celebrity diplomacy" attracts wide media attention, significant money, and top official access around the world. But is this phenomenon just the latest fad? Are celebrities dabbling in an arena that is out of their depth, or are they bringing justified notice to important problems that might otherwise languish on the crowded international diplomatic scene? This book is the first to examine celebrity diplomacy as a serious global project with important implications, both positive and negative. Intended for readers who might not normally read about celebrities, it will also attract audiences often turned off by international affairs. Celebrities bring optimism and "buzz" to issues that seem deep and gloomy. Even if their lofty goals remain elusive, when celebrities speak, other actors in the global system listen.
