Book excerpt: Depuis des décennies, l'évaluation du risque de défaillance des entreprises est au centre des préoccupations des chercheurs et des professionnels de ce domaine. Le développement et l'utilisation des modèles capables de prévoir la défaillance est important pour les parties prenantes pour deux raisons : comme système d'alerte pour les gestionnaires d'entreprises et comme outil d'aide à la sélection des entreprises pour les établissements financiers prêteurs. Une évaluation des différentes méthodes utilisées pour le diagnostic précoce de la défaillance est faite. Il est ensuite proposé un modèle qui permette de rendre le diagnostic le plus précis possible en combinant les approches unidimensionnelle et multidimensionnelle de la prévision des défaillances. Il est également mis en évidence plusieurs avantages de l'utilisation d'un algorithme génétique pour l'évaluation des paramètres de ce modèle.
