En France sa prévalence est estimée à 4, 4 % de la population. Chez les patients diabétiques de sexe masculin, la dysfonction érectile (DE) est une manifestation clinique fréquente et précoce. Elle représente un marqueur de risque vasculaire pour ces patients. Notre étude avait pour but d'évaluer la prévalence de la DE dans une population de patient diabétiques et de récolter des informations sur la prise en charge de cette pathologie par leur médecin généraliste. Il s'agissait d'une étude observationnelle prospective. Le recueil de données a été fait via un questionnaire proposé aux patients lors de leur consultation de suivi. Les variables étudiées concernaient : La dysfonction érectile, son évocation en consultation l'équilibre et le traitement de la pathologie diabétique, ainsi que des données concernant les généralistes des patients interrogés. L'analyse statistique a été permise par le logiciel PAWStatistics 18. 50 patients ont été inclus dans l'étude. La prévalence de la DE était de 72%. L'âge médian des patients était de 58 ans La durée médiane du diabète était de 8 ans. L'âge et la durée d'évolution du diabète étaient corrélés à une plus forte prévalence de la DE (coefficient de corrélation significatif p=0,042 et 0,017 respectivement). Le type de diabète, le type de traitement, la présence de complications macro ou micro vasculaires n'étaient pas significativement associée à une plus forte prévalence de la DE. Chez les patients victimes de DE 66,7% n'avaient jamais abordé ce sujet avec leur médecin généraliste. 77% d'entre eux souhaiteraient que ce problème soit abordé par leur médecin. 19 médecins ont répondu au questionnaire. 84,2% d'entre eux étaient des hommes. L'âge médian était de 52 ans. 3 d'entre eux (15,8%) abordaient systématiquement la DE avec leurs patients diabétiques. L'outil de dépistage le plus utilisé était l'interrogatoire simple (47,4%). Lorsqu'une DE est dépistée elle est traitée par des IPDE 5 pour 78,9% des praticiens. 26% des praticiens adressaient leurs patients pour une épreuve d'effort lorsqu'une DE était dépistée. La DE a une prévalence forte chez les patients diabétiques. Cette prévalence est corrélée à l'âge des patients et a la durée d'évolution du diabète. La question de la DE n'est pas assez souvent abordée en consultation. La significativité des résultats est relative compte tenu de la petite taille des échantillons.
