Book excerpt: The Precept Study Bible Version book of Matthew is the 55th completed book from the 81 Bible book series; which contains precepts and appellations. This version has King James approval texts, with the additions of precepts of the Old Testament, the Apocrypha, and the New Testament books. This version is the most accurate English translations in existence today. The primary purpose of The Precept Study Bible Version series and its separation of book, it will give the reader a better and more authentic experience of how to focus, and study as our forefather's study scripture writings we know witness within the Bible texts. Hence, The Precept Study Bible Version series contains no references, only precepts and appellations for an understanding of the time it was written. The Bible only use precepts, not Hermeneutics, Exegesis, or Inductive study methods. Our intentions are for the reader to better understand how to use the Bible precepts and appellations for truth.
Book Synopsis The Precept Study Bible by : Michael Johnson, Sr.
Download or read book The Precept Study Bible written by Michael Johnson, Sr. and published by . This book was released on 2019-09-10 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Translators imputed words in the King James Bible and italics them because some have assumed that those words were placed for importance. In fact, the words in italics in the King James Bible are words that were added by the translators to help the reader. They felt it was necessary when translating from one language to another because a word in one language may not have a comparison word in English and natural expressions often do not efficiently flow smoothly from one language to another. Hence, the words in italics are words which do not have any equality in the Hebrew, Aramaic, or Greek text. By adding these words, the translators' goal was to make the meaning of the sentence clearer and produce a more readable translation that reads smoothly, yet was faithful to the original. However, to make sure that the reader understood that these words were not in the manuscripts, they set them in italics.Clearly, the words in italics were not miraculously given to the translators by God as additional inspiration the same way He did as recorded in 2 Peter 1:21, "holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." Neither are the italics there to add emphasis. The words in italics in the King James Bible are words that were added by the translators to help the reader better understand the intent of the passage translated from the original languages. The same as for me (Michael Johnson, Sr.), I added all my precepts and word appellations using italics. To give the reader notice, they are not part of scripture. They were added for clarity only, and give the reader a better understanding of what the passage is saying and what the words mean at the time the word was being in the Bible. Word appellations are used to give the reader knowledge of geographical locations (as of a region, village, or vineyard), or person(s) name meaning, and location, city, place, and wilderness locations. Appellations are also used to identify the characteristics and acts by appellations.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ." . . In Diagramming the Scriptures. . . the curriculum starts with the simple sentence, adds precept upon precept until the learner is able to master complex sentences. . . As each concept is introduced, the student has plenty of practice, followed by quizzes, and later a cumulative test over the entire text. As an educator, a homeschool parent, and a tutor I see this curriculum as an excellent choice for a homeschool, a Christian school classroom, or for an individual of any age who is interested in studying grammar or God's Word, word by word."Deana Haines, Families for Home Education Executive Director." . .I am quite pleased to recommend your book to college professors as an excellent addition to their basic texts in teaching English grammar. . . Since your examples and exercises utilize Bible sentences, your book is also a valuable asset to the study of hermeneutics."Jim Anderson, Chancellor, Midwestern Baptist College, SBC"Diagramming the Scriptures is a unique way to help focus the Bible student on the words and meanings of Scripture. I commend Shirley Forsen for providing this excellent book and recommend it to all who desire to "go deeper" in their study of God's Word."Dr John A Hash, Bible Pathway Ministries." . .I recommend Diagramming the Scriptures to all scholars to clarify interpretations of all books and to all teachers of grammar."Glada Kelley, retired teacher and librarian." . .The best and unique part of Miss Forsen's book is that Bible verses are used for the examples and exercises. This teaches the student an important aspect of "rightly dividing the word of truth" understanding how the structure of the verse influences its meaning. Diagramming the Scriptures teaches necessary skills, both educational and spiritual."Laura Blunk, college freshman
Book Synopsis The Poisonwood Bible by : Barbara Kingsolver
Download or read book The Poisonwood Bible written by Barbara Kingsolver and published by Harper Collins. This book was released on 2009-10-13 with total page 578 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: New York Times Bestseller • Finalist for the Pulitzer Prize • An Oprah's Book Club Selection “Powerful . . . [Kingsolver] has with infinitely steady hands worked the prickly threads of religion, politics, race, sin and redemption into a thing of terrible beauty.” —Los Angeles Times Book Review The Poisonwood Bible, now celebrating its 25th anniversary, established Barbara Kingsolver as one of the most thoughtful and daring of modern writers. Taking its place alongside the classic works of postcolonial literature, it is a suspenseful epic of one family's tragic undoing and remarkable reconstruction over the course of three decades in Africa. The story is told by the wife and four daughters of Nathan Price, a fierce, evangelical Baptist who takes his family and mission to the Belgian Congo in 1959. They carry with them everything they believe they will need from home, but soon find that all of it—from garden seeds to Scripture—is calamitously transformed on African soil. The novel is set against one of the most dramatic political chronicles of the twentieth century: the Congo's fight for independence from Belgium, the murder of its first elected prime minister, the CIA coup to install his replacement, and the insidious progress of a world economic order that robs the fledgling African nation of its autonomy. Against this backdrop, Orleanna Price reconstructs the story of her evangelist husband's part in the Western assault on Africa, a tale indelibly darkened by her own losses and unanswerable questions about her own culpability. Also narrating the story, by turns, are her four daughters—the teenaged Rachel; adolescent twins Leah and Adah; and Ruth May, a prescient five-year-old. These sharply observant girls, who arrive in the Congo with racial preconceptions forged in 1950s Georgia, will be marked in surprisingly different ways by their father's intractable mission, and by Africa itself. Ultimately each must strike her own separate path to salvation. Their passionately intertwined stories become a compelling exploration of moral risk and personal responsibility.

Book Synopsis New Ways to Kill Your Mother by : Colm Toibin
Download or read book New Ways to Kill Your Mother written by Colm Toibin and published by Emblem Editions. This book was released on 2012-05-01 with total page 315 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this fascinating, informative, and entertaining collection, internationally acclaimed, award-winning author Colm Tóibín turns his attention to the intricacies of family relationships in literature and writing. In pieces that range from the importance of aunts (and the death of parents) in the English nineteenth-century novel to the relationship between fathers and sons in the writing of James Baldwin and Barack Obama, Colm Tóibín illuminates not only the intimate connections between writers and their families but also, with wit and rare tenderness, articulates the great joy of reading their work. In the piece on the Notebooks of Tennessee Williams, Tóibín reveals an artist "alone and deeply fearful and unusually selfish" and one profoundly tormented by his sister's mental illness. Through the relationship between W.B. Yeats and his father, or Thomas Mann and his children, or J.M. Synge and his mother, Tóibín examines a world of family relations, richly comic or savage in its implications. In Roddy Doyle's writing on his parents we see an Ireland reinvented. From the dreams and nightmares of John Cheever's journals Tóibín makes flesh this darkly comic misanthrope and his relationship to his wife and his children. The majority of these pieces were previously published in the Londron Review of Books, the New York Review Review of Books, and the Dublin Review. Three of the thirteen pieces have never appeared before.
