Esta modalidade de ensino também envolve diretamente a preparação para o trabalho e o ingresso do indivíduo (ou sua manutenção) nesta esfera. Entretanto, considerar o trabalho implica em considerar o capitalismo, incluindo pontos de entrave gerados por esse modo de produção, sobretudo no que diz respeito à relação capital-trabalho. Desta relação resta-nos pensar de que maneira o trabalho (intelectual ou manual) apresenta uma independência e não seja apenas motivo de exploração para o aumento da renda do capitalista, já que lucro não é pecado, mas sim, exploração. Com base nesses pressupostos, a investigação teve como objetivo identificar as variáveis implicadas no processo de formação profissional considerando as relações do ensino técnico de nível médio com as demandas do sistema econômico e as políticas públicas voltadas para esta modalidade, sobretudo as desenvolvidas nos últimos sessenta anos. Foram ponderados, inclusive, os indicativos históricos do ensino técnico no Brasil e em São Paulo, assim como, a formulação de políticas públicas educacionais sob os aspectos sociopolítico, econômico e histórico, tendo como resposta os principais desafios que o curso técnico tem enfrentado em sua trajetória.

Book excerpt: Devido ao grande número de alunos que evadem o ensino técnico, foi necessário um estudo para identificar os motivos específicos que levam o jovem a interromper seus estudos nos cursos técnicos. Indiscutivelmente a evasão é uma dificuldade enfrentada na educação, que pode ser desencadeada por várias causas, relativas a diversos contextos, e as consequências são inúmeras. No entanto, a conjuntura em que elas estão inseridas é uma só, um futuro prejudicado e sem desenvolvimento pleno, uma vez que o abandono dos estudos é a renúncia ao direito à educação. Foi possível identificar os motivos da evasão nos cursos técnicos, que é constituída por fatores externos, como: trabalho; distância da escola; problemas familiares; a conclusão da educação básica em outras instituições; e por fatores internos apontados pelos alunos, como: disciplinas difíceis; curso cansativo; lentidão no processo de ensinar e falta de conhecimento específico do conteúdo ministrado por alguns professores. Também foi possível perceber que faltam políticas públicas direcionadas ao incentivo e permanência do aluno no Ensino Técnico.
