Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Poem - CrossroadsI'm at the Crossroads of Destiny.I feel like I'm fighting to become a part of what's left of me. I'm at the Crossroads of Destiny.I'm on the road to the Lord and the devils at the stop sign with his pitch fork waiting for some company. Is there a fall for me? For so long I've thought I was sane but soon as I'm calm he snatches it from me.I can't believe it! Ironic and seemingly a dream is what this life is. I guess I'll finally know what it means to be out in this world with no one left to care for me but me. Is it the Lord that comforts me? Maybe that's why when I cry inside my tears don't fall I guess his Angels are watching me! I'm at the Crossroads of destiny. Although I smile do you still hide my joy and lock my peace far aside from me? Is it all comforting?I've lost my smile I've lost my fight but I can't give up I will fight until I die, while you run over me.I'm at the crossroads of destiny. Although I smile it's just a mask under it I hide. Why do I fall to my knees? Although I try I'm just a shell of what I used to be. I'm at the crossroads of destiny. The Lord is at the end of the Road I hear his voice its calling mightily. I'm at the Crossroads of Destiny. Although I seek to do right why do these demons seek to haunt me? Am I a chosen one? Cause although he calls I see Satan stands by his road with his pitchfork stabbing me. Will I succumb? The pressures as bad as a cross I'm nailed by my sides but I still fight until I'm dead! I'm at the Crossroads of destiny. ooooh ooooh!I'm at the crossroads of destiny!I'm in the fight for my soul.I've fallen so many times but I pray this time I overcome the Darkness that is the devil. I'm not afraid anymore I know whichever way it goes God has the full undisputed control. Call it a battle, I think although I'm weak I'm ready to go one more round and this time I let God do his work. I just pray he have Mercy on my soul no matter what way he has set in his power for me to go. I'm at the Crossroads of Destiny. Although my temptations rise Lord I still ride for what I have inside- you placed a fire I can't hide you're calling me!I'm at the Crossroads of Destiny!ooh, oooooh, ooooh.I'm at the Crossroads of Destiny. oooooh oooooh! at the Crossroads of Destiny.

Download or read book Angel’s Diary written by Martin Napa and published by Balboa Press. This book was released on 2020-09-17 with total page 40 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Angels touched Martin’s heart in 2003 when he had an opportunity to take part in angel therapy courses in Ireland together with his wife, Mai-Liis. She is also an illustrator of Angel’s Diary. In 2008, Angel’s Diary was first published in the Estonian language. Author didn’t know then about the difficulties ahead, but the presence of God’s angels has made it possible to endure the challenging times and sorrow. He wishes that we would be aware that angels are always with us. Angels love us without judging us, in light as in darkness, because their ultimate wish is to help and guide us to the understanding that we are one whole. That we deserve forgiveness as we should forgive everyone else. We are love. Only love is everlasting. Angels strive to pass this on to all humans. This message only needs to be recognized, put into words, and passed on.

Book Synopsis The Angel of History by : Carolyn Forche
Download or read book The Angel of History written by Carolyn Forche and published by Harper Collins. This book was released on 2010-11-09 with total page 96 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Placed in the context of twentieth-century moral disaster--war, genocide, the Holocaust, the atomic bomb--Forche's ambitious and compelling third collection of poems is a meditation of memory, specifically how memory survives the unimaginable. The poems reflect the effects of such experience: the lines, and often the images within them, are fragmented discordant. But read together, these lines become a haunting mosaic of grief, evoking the necessary accommodations human beings make to survive what is unsurvivable. As poets have always done, Forche attempts to give voice to the unutterable, using language to keep memory alive, relive history, and link the past with the future.

Book Synopsis Dusty Angels and Old Diaries by : Linda Meikle
Download or read book Dusty Angels and Old Diaries written by Linda Meikle and published by Linda M. This book was released on 2006-05 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Everyone has a story to tell. Most are lucky if they find one person who will listen. This book shares over 40 years of personal diaries that give birth to the unusual story of my life. When I was three years old, my mother wrote a goodbye note and disappeared without a trace. Her four small children were placed in the custody of the State of New York. Separated from our older brother and sister, my sister and I grew up fleeing from child protective service workers who only saw a glimpse of the conditions in which our grandmother was raising us after she illegally took us from the orphanage. This book tells my story based on a lifetime of my old diaries that relive the abuse and pain suffered at the hands of an unbridled, angry woman; the slow death of a turbulent marriage; the birth and blessings of two wonderful sons; and the lifelong search for my lost siblings. It describes the agonizing search for my mother - and the pivotal moment when I found her, almost forty years later! This autobiography is not about the ancestry of the Brantley family, the Mascunana family, or the Cash family. It is about innocence and power. It is about weakness and strength. It is about those who helped create the paths I took. I must write this so that my children will know the journey that I traveled before they were born, so my brothers and sisters will know who I am, and so my mother will understand why I can forgive her. It is a gift to myself and to you, the reader. It serves as my legacy for the future! Put on your soft slippers and walk with me a while.
Download or read book The Kagero Diary written by and published by University of Michigan Press. This book was released on 2020-08-06 with total page 433 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Japan is the only country in the world where women writers laid the foundations of classical literature. The Kagerō Diary commands our attention as the first extant work of that rich and brilliant tradition. The author, known to posterity as Michitsuna’s Mother, a member of the middle-ranking aristocracy of the Heian period (794–1185), wrote an account of 20 years of her life (from 954–74), and this autobiographical text now gives readers access to a woman’s experience of a thousand years ago. The diary centers on the author’s relationship with her husband, Fujiwara Kaneie, her kinsman from a more powerful and prestigious branch of the family than her own. Their marriage ended in divorce, and one of the author’s intentions seems to have been to write an anti-romance, one that could be subtitled, “I married the prince but we did not live happily ever after.” Yet, particularly in the first part of the diary, Michitsuna’s Mother is drawn to record those events and moments when the marriage did live up to a romantic ideal fostered by the Japanese tradition of love poetry. At the same time, she also seems to seek the freedom to live and write outside the romance myth and without a husband. Since the author was by inclination and talent a poet and lived in a time when poetry was a part of everyday social intercourse, her account of her life is shaped by a lyrical consciousness. The poems she records are crystalline moments of awareness that vividly recall the past. This new translation of the Kagerō Diary conveys the long, fluid sentences, the complex polyphony of voices, and the floating temporality of the original. It also pays careful attention to the poems of the text, rendering as much as possible their complex imagery and open-ended quality. The translation is accompanied by running notes on facing pages and an introduction that places the work within the context of contemporary discussions regarding feminist literature and the genre of autobiography and provides detailed historical information and a description of the stylistic qualities of the text.

The texts are extensively annotated, with notes both explaining unfamiliar words and providing cultural and historical contexts.
