Book Synopsis Dynamic Investment Planning (Routledge Revivals) by : Mohammed H. Dore
Download or read book Dynamic Investment Planning (Routledge Revivals) written by Mohammed H. Dore and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2015-03-26 with total page 162 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In dynamic investment planning the time of investment is a significant issue. By simplifying the mathematical notation, the author of this book seeks to make control theory a practical tool that can be applied to the problem of timing. The book, first published in 1977, begins with an introduction to one important approach to control theory – dynamic programming. Then some of the relevant literature that deals with investment decision-making is reviewed. This is followed by a mathematically formulated planning model. The computational aspects of the model are discussed and a complete computer flow chart is given. The second part of the book gives a thorough application of the theory by means of a detailed case study – the planning of a steel industry. The case study illustrates how a fairly abstract dynamic analysis can be effectively integrated with practical decision-making concerns. This book is ideal for students of economics and business.
Book Synopsis The Macroeconomic Effects of Public Investment by : Mr.Abdul Abiad
Download or read book The Macroeconomic Effects of Public Investment written by Mr.Abdul Abiad and published by International Monetary Fund. This book was released on 2015-05-04 with total page 26 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This paper provides new evidence of the macroeconomic effects of public investment in advanced economies. Using public investment forecast errors to identify the causal effect of government investment in a sample of 17 OECD economies since 1985 and model simulations, the paper finds that increased public investment raises output, both in the short term and in the long term, crowds in private investment, and reduces unemployment. Several factors shape the macroeconomic effects of public investment. When there is economic slack and monetary accommodation, demand effects are stronger, and the public-debt-to-GDP ratio may actually decline. Public investment is also more effective in boosting output in countries with higher public investment efficiency and when it is financed by issuing debt.

This book was released on 2023-11-06 with total page 145 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Renewable energy has been considered as an effective way to deal with challenges caused by energy security and climate change. In the past decades, the share of renewable energy in the energy mix has been increasing with a proportion of around 25% globally benefitting from the steady maturity of economical, technological and political issues. However, the gap between expectations of fast, renewables-driven energy transitions and the reality of today’s energy systems which rely heavily on fossil fuels remains stubbornly large. The development of renewable energy still faces uncertainties, among them are cost changes driven by the potential technology breakthroughs, renewable power market-oriented progress, and various challenges related to grid interconnection of such intermittent renewable energy resources, and some other factors. Many countries and regions have issued their plans in boosting the development of renewable power. However, not one renewable power exploitation plan is acceptable universally due to the varied developing level of economies and societies. It is of great significance to explore the economic, technological, and political influences of related factors in achieving the development target for renewable energy.
