Book excerpt: Resumen: Título: El presente trabajo académico-práctico es realizado en cumplimiento del convenio de prácticas universitarias entre el municipio de Toro Valle del Cauca y la Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira para la FORMULACION DEL PLAN MUNICIPAL DE GESTIÓN DEL RIESGO PARA EL MUNICIPIO DE TORO VALLE DEL CAUCA, bajo la modalidad de práctica empresarial conducente a trabajo de grado, con una duración de 4 meses. El desarrollo del trabajo práctico contó con la participación activa de la comunidad, los diferentes actores sociales (internos-externos) y el consejo municipal de Gestión del Riesgo, lo cual permitió vislumbrar a la luz de la gestión del riesgo una visión de la realidad territorial, que facilito la elaboración del PMGR; Dicho plan se realizó en el marco de la ley 1523 de 2012 y el sistema Nacional de Gestión del Riesgo, el cual provee una guía que se utilizó para la caracterización general de escenarios de riesgo por incendios forestales, fenómenos de remoción en masa, avenidas torrenciales e inundaciones y amenaza sísmica. Durante el desarrollo de la práctica se llevó a cabo un reconocimiento al municipio de Toro, el cual posibilito describir el contexto biofísico y socioeconómico para una posterior descripción de los factores de amenaza, vulnerabilidad y las condiciones de riesgo a nivel municipal; Finalmente se propusieron una serie de estrategias para la incorporación de la gestión del riesgo en el Esquema de Ordenamiento territorial del municipio.
