You’ll learn how to make Razza specialties such as: Jersey Margherita, a new classic improving on Neapolitan tradition Meatball Pizza, the first time Richer has shared the recipe for Razza’s legendary meatballs Project Hazelnut, pairing the rich flavor of the nuts with honey and mozzarella Santo, topped with caramelized fennel sausage and drizzled with chile oil Pumpkin Pie, a cold-weather pie with roasted pumpkin, ricotta salata, and caramelized onions And many more inventive and seasonal pizzas, from Funghi (mushroom) and Montagna (arugula and speck) to Bianca (white pizza) and Rossa (vegan tomato pie) Suited to beginning home bakers and professionals alike, these crusts begin with store-bought yeast as well as sourdough starter. Book Synopsis Slice Harvester by : Colin Atrophy Hagendorf
Download or read book Slice Harvester written by Colin Atrophy Hagendorf and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2016-11-08 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Over the course of two years, a twenty-something punk rocker eats a cheese slice from every pizzeria in New York City, gets sober, falls in love, and starts a blog that captures headlines around the world--he is the Slice Harvester, and this is his story. Since its arrival on US shores in 1905, pizza has risen from an obscure ethnic food to an iconic symbol of American culture. It has visited us in our dorm rooms and apartments, sometimes before we'd even unpacked or painted. It has nourished us during our jobs, consoled us during break-ups, and celebrated our triumphs right alongside us. In August 2009, Colin Hagendorf set out to review every regular slice of pizza in Manhattan, and his blog, Slice Harvester, was born. Two years and nearly 400 slices later, he'd been featured in The Wall Street Journal, the Daily News (New York), and on radio shows all over the country. Suddenly, this self-proclaimed punk who was barely making a living doing burrito delivery and selling handmade zines had a following. But at the same time Colin was stepping up his game for the masses (grabbing slices with Phoebe Cates and her teenage daughter, reviewing kosher pizza so you don't have to), his personal life was falling apart. A problem drinker and chronic bad boyfriend, he started out using the blog as a way to escape--the hangovers, the midnight arguments, the hangovers again--until finally realizing that by taking steps to reach a goal day by day, he'd actually put himself in a place to finally take control of his life for good"--
Download or read book Teacher/Pizza Guy written by Jeff Kass and published by Wayne State University Press. This book was released on 2019-08-26 with total page 113 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Explores the emotional and physical labor necessary to work nights as a pizza delivery driver and days as a high school English teacher. Teacher/Pizza Guy is a collection of autobiographical poems from the 2016–17 school year in which Jeff Kass worked as a full-time English teacher and a part-time director for a literary arts organization and still had to supplement his income by delivering pizzas a few nights a week. In the collection, Kass is unapologetically political without distracting from the poems themselves but rather adds layers and nuances to the fight for the middle class and for educators as a profession. The timing of this book is beyond relevant. As a public high school teacher in America, Kass's situation is not uncommon. In September 2018, Time published an article detailing how many public school teachers across the country and in a variety of environments work multiple jobs to help make ends meet. Teacher/Pizza Guy chronicles Kass's experience of teaching, directing, feeding people, and treading the delicate balance of holding himself accountable to his wife and kids, his students, his customers, and his own mental and physical health while working three jobs in contemporary America. The journey of that year was draining, at times daunting, at times satisfying, but always surprising. Many of the ideas for these poems were initially scribbled onto the backs of pizza receipts or scratched out during precious free moments amidst the chaos of the school day. A driving force behind the book is Philip Levine's poem "What Work Is," which Kass believes attempts to examine not only the dignity and complexity of what we think physical, tangible work is but also the exhausting, albeit sometimes fulfilling nature of emotional work. Teacher/Pizza Guy is a funny and relatable collection for readers, thinkers, educators, and pizza lovers everywhere.
Download or read book Life From Scratch written by Sasha Martin and published by National Geographic Books. This book was released on 2015-03-03 with total page 356 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Witty, warm, and poignant, food blogger Sasha Martin's memoir about cooking her way to happiness and self-acceptance is a culinary journey like no other. Over the course of 195 weeks, food writer and blogger Sasha Martin set out to cook—and eat—a meal from every country in the world. As cooking unlocked the memories of her rough-and-tumble childhood and the loss and heartbreak that came with it, Martin became more determined than ever to find peace and elevate her life through the prism of food and world cultures. From the tiny, makeshift kitchen of her eccentric, creative mother, to a string of foster homes, to the house from which she launched her own cooking adventure, Martin's heartfelt, brutally honest memoir reveals the power of cooking to bond, to empower, and to heal—and celebrates the simple truth that happiness is created from within. "This beautifully written book is both poignant and uplifting. Not to mention delicious. It's an amazing family tale that reminds me of The Glass Castle, but with more food. And not just any food: We're talking cinnamon raisin pizza." —A.J. Jacobs, author of The Year of Living Biblically "Life From Scratch is an unconventional love story. This beautiful book begins with the quest of cooking a meal from every country—a noble feat of it's own!—but then turns it into something far beyond a kitchen adventure. Be prepared to be changed as you experience Sasha's journey for yourself." —Chris Guillebeau, author of The Happiness Pursuit
Book Synopsis Pizza, A Slice of American History by : Liz Barrett
Download or read book Pizza, A Slice of American History written by Liz Barrett and published by Voyageur Press (MN). This book was released on 2014-09 with total page 179 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book tells the story of how this beloved food became the apple of our collective eye-or, perhaps more precisely, the pepperoni of our pie. Pizza journalist Liz Barrett explores how it is that pizza came to and conquered North America and how it evolved into different forms across the continent. Each chapter investigates a different pie: Chicago's famous deep-dish, New Haven's white clam pie, California's health-conscious varieties, New York's Sicilian and Neapolitan, the various styles that have emerged in the Midwest, and many others. The components of each pie-crust, sauce, spices, and much more-are dissected and celebrated, and recipes from top pizzerias provide readers with the opportunity to make and sample the pies themselves.
Download or read book Meant to Be written by Lauren Pizza and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2014-05-06 with total page 271 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When Lauren Pizza was thirteen, she died. Caught under a small sailboat, she struggled to reach the surface, only to find that what she thought was up was actually down . . . and that’s all she remembers. Ever since being resuscitated by two strangers, Pizza has felt a presence in her life from the spirit world. Is it crazy? Maybe. Her family sure thinks so. Growing up the youngest, and sometimes forgotten, of five in Little Falls, New Jersey, Pizza continues to live the typical life “down the shore” after her accident. She survives high school (barely), goes to college in Dayton, Ohio (which she might have thought was in Florida when she applied), and is ready to settle down with her “perfect” Kennedy-esque boyfriend in Jersey—until she wakes up. Suddenly free and single, Pizza relies on intuition (and perhaps a few signs) and finds herself a job in the city, a grungy apartment in the West Village, and waits for Prince Charming. When he finally arrives, she doesn’t recognize him: he drives a red Ferrari, sure, but he has hair like Howard Stern and wears more gold chains than Mr. T. Meant to Be is the story of a blue-collar Jersey girl swept off her feet by an unconventional millionaire, thrust into an entirely new world, where she makes plenty of mistakes and sometimes feels like “I’m from the Jersey Shore” is stapled to her forehead. With humor, gratitude, and trademark Jersey spunk, Lauren tells it like it is: the highs, the lows, the bad twists, the good advice from unlikely places, and the times she wished she could disappear. Underneath the designer clothes and private jets, she’s still the same Jersey Girl who took the D train and lived on Snapple. And she wouldn’t have it any other way.

Download or read book Pizza and Abs written by John DeLuca and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2018-12-04 with total page 204 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To get lean you need to induce a deficit. Knowing this, the most common recommendation is to "eat less". Although straightforward this approach leads to an increase in hunger, loss of lean body mass (muscle and bone) and increased chance of binge eating in social situations. It's for these reasons that "eating less" in general doesn't work for most people. The Pizza & Abs book breaks down the science on how to get lean using a different approach. Through implementing a thermic diet (which expends additional energy due to dietary thermogenesis) along with an integrated movement program you can induce a proper deficit without "eating less". What is most notable is this approach abolishes the negative side effects seen with eating less. This approach reduces hunger, preserves or even increases lean body mass and lastly prevents binge eating in social situations. It is for this reason the Pizza & Abs approach is not only enjoyable but also sustainable and can be followed long-term. Based on over 120 scientific studies, this 204 page book will break down a few key things. Learn about the world today and how it favors hyper-palatable processed foods and sitting. Become mindful of how the environment affects your every move and come up with a feasible plan to select the right foods and move at key inflection points within your day. Get Ripped without giving up your social life. Learn how to make this transformation easy on yourself. Swim with the stream instead of against it. Get shredded without "Eating Less". Engineer an advantageous diet that torches away fat and builds muscle using real food. Drop your formal exercise program for something that you want to do. Make the world your playground. Go out on the town or to the mid-week feast with zero fat gain. "Eat Up" and Stay Lean. Sound too good to be true? All of this and more is carved out with practical real world examples, tips and walk throughs. By the end you'll become a self-sufficient machine that enjoys every meal, moves with ease and most of all has a good time doing it.
