He didn't know whether he was cursed or blessed, but he was sure that he would never die. He will remain young while those around him will age. He is impervious to swords. His wounds heal as if his skin was made of rubber, and he does not bleed. Namsu slept on the ship that night, and that one night turned into a thousand years as if the ship was travelling through a time portal or was itself a time machine.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In The Eye of the Storm: Genesis 10: 24 - 29 Genesis tells us how the idea of slavery within the Americas first came about and how religion was used as a justification to bind and hold a group of people to a dieing system. The impact of slavery on this nation was so horrendous it tore the fabric of America apart and set a nation on a course that all but doomed it. The anger and resentment still hold two groups of people apart, steeped in jealousy and distrust of one another. Learn when slavery began and where it began and the nations involved that to this day have not relented nor apologized for the deaths and incarceration of more than 100 million people. Learn how the history books carefully walked around the truth about slavery and taught you what they wanted you to know. Slavery was not what you were taught, the hypocrisy of those that were involved showed the mental struggle within that society for what was deemed immoral, yet they fought on to continue on the course they had set. We see in life, we have but one goal to make it as bearable as possible. We tend to gravitate to one existence and then settle on a mundane life style or existence. As we continue into the void we maintain contact within a society whos attitude, however primitive, however chaotic, however limited never ceases to exert itself upon a Nation with in a Nation. Mans attempt to replace what he knows of himself and what he refuses to believe, obscures the true meaning behind the idea of Slavery. To him life has many meanings, one of which is to control what you do not understand, man should know that time is not on his side in this case; it is a moment in the time clock of the very creator. What is time to us is but a fleeting moment, but to him who knows no bounds it is a time of reconciliation for the wrongs dealt. To the very core of this universe, time is a meaningless phenomenon He who is consumed with guilt is driven by guilt to the detriment of our very existence. A world when taken and dissected is found absent of any warmth or any relevance to the creator in any way other than existence to the very people he created. It is interesting to assume that life can be a rich and fulfilling endeavor when given a chance. If we are to exist we first have to present ourselves as worthy to exist in a universe not conditioned for us.

Book Synopsis Postcolonial Amazons by : Walter Duvall Penrose Jr.
Download or read book Postcolonial Amazons written by Walter Duvall Penrose Jr. and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2016-10-20 with total page 334 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Scholars have long been divided on the question of whether the Amazons of Greek legend actually existed. Notably, Soviet archaeologists' discoveries of the bodies of women warriors in the 1980s appeared to directly contradict western classicists' denial of the veracity of the Amazon myth, and there have been few concessions between the two schools of thought since. Postcolonial Amazons offers a ground-breaking re-evaluation of the place of martial women in the ancient world, bridging the gap between myth and historical reality and expanding our conception of the Amazon archetype. By shifting the center of debate to the periphery of the region known to the Greeks, the startling conclusion emerges that the ancient Athenian conception of women as weak and fearful was not at all typical of the region of that time, even within Greece. Surrounding the Athenians were numerous peoples who held that women could be courageous, able, clever, and daring, suggesting that although Greek stories of Amazons may be exaggerations, they were based upon a real historical understanding of women who fought. While re-examining the sources of the Amazon myth, this compelling volume also resituates the Amazons in the broader context from which they have been extracted, illustrating that although they were the quintessential example of female masculinity in ancient Greek thought, they were not the only instance of this phenomenon: masculine women were masqueraded on the Greek stage, described in the Hippocratic corpus, took part in the struggle to control Alexander the Great's empire after his death, and served as bodyguards in ancient India. Against the backdrop of the ongoing debates surrounding gender norms and fluidity, Postcolonial Amazons breaks new ground as an ancient history of female masculinity and demonstrates that these ideas have a much longer and more durable heritage than we may have supposed.
