Download or read book Frau Lou written by Rudolph Binion and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2015-03-08 with total page 602 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The rich and fascinating life of Lou Andreas-Salomé (1861-1937) has been reconstructed by Professor Binion on a vast documentary basis, and his findings contradict all earlier versions of her life. Frau Lou was a woman of prodigious intellect, a woman of letters, and a powerful personality. She was closely linked with many of the great cultural figures of the time, often before they achieved recognition. This was the case with Nietzsche, Rilke, Freud, Ferdinand Tönnies, Gerhart Hauptmann, Arthur Schnitzler, and Martin Buber. Frau Lou not only relates but interprets Lou's life, and the point of the book is to discover how the works of the mind, whether scientific or imaginative, arise out of personal experience. Contents: I. Father and Father-God. II. God's Vicar, Gillot. III. After Gillot. IV. The Unholy Trinity. V. From Pillar to Post. VI. "A Pity Forever." VII. Lou Without Nietzsche. VIII. Book Synopsis Sustainability in Higher Education by : Peggy F. Barlett
Download or read book Sustainability in Higher Education written by Peggy F. Barlett and published by MIT Press. This book was released on 2013-08-16 with total page 335 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Campus leaders describe how community colleges, publicly funded universities, and private liberal arts colleges across America are integrating sustainability into curriculum, policies, and programs. In colleges and universities across the United States, students, faculty, and staff are forging new paths to sustainability. From private liberal arts colleges to major research institutions to community colleges, sustainability concerns are being integrated into curricula, policies, and programs. New divisions, degree programs, and courses of study cross traditional disciplinary boundaries; Sustainability Councils become part of campus governance; and new sustainability issues link to historic social and educational missions. In this book, leaders from twenty-four colleges and universities offer their stories of institutional and personal transformation. These stories document both the power of leadership—whether by college presidents, faculty, staff, or student activists—and the potential for institutions to redefine themselves. Chapters recount, among other things, how inclusive campus governance helped mobilize students at the University of South Carolina; how a course at the Menominee Nation's tribal college linked sustainability and traditional knowledge; how the president of Furman University convinced a conservative campus community to make sustainability a strategic priority; how students at San Diego State University built sustainability into future governance while financing a LEED platinum-certified student center; and how sustainability transformed pedagogy in a lecture class at Penn State. As this book makes clear, there are many paths to sustainability in higher education. These stories offer a snapshot of what has been accomplished and a roadmap to what is possible. Book Synopsis Trastorno específico del lenguaje (TEL) by : Elvira Mendoza Lara
Download or read book Trastorno específico del lenguaje (TEL) written by Elvira Mendoza Lara and published by . This book was released on 2001 with total page 380 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Trastorno específico del lenguaje (TEL) by : Elvira Mendoza Lara
Download or read book Trastorno específico del lenguaje (TEL) written by Elvira Mendoza Lara and published by Ediciones Pirámide. This book was released on 2016-09-15 with total page 736 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
