For some reason though, on the author's 40th RAF anniversary of joining, he began to recollect distant memories of 'growing up' and reminiscing profusely about completing his Basic Training. With increasing thoughts and feelings, more distinctive than previous years, he starts to consider writing down his memories for posterity. However, with an initial purpose to solely write his memoire for himself and Grandchildren, the concept developed significantly. In recalling his thoughts and seeing original documents plus old photographs again, the notion quickly exceeded the initial concept.
