While the actual writing of most of the work was done by Clyde Edwin Tuck, the data was gathered by many trained assistants and the finished product ap proved by competent local authorities, to prevent possible errors, Jonathan Fairbanks being the principal editorial advisor, while special chapters were written by Edward M. Shepard and others well equipped to prepare such articles. A specially valuable department has been devoted to the sketches of representative citizens of this county whose records deserve perservation because of their worth and accomplishments.
