For every journey, there is a starting point; in other words, to start a journey, everybody needs a foundation which determines his final destination. If the foundation is wrong, then the whole journey will also be in the wrong direction, and nothing is worse than travelling in the wrong direction throughout your life. If you miss the real root you can’t bear the real fruit for your root determines your fruit. In the spiritual world, so many people are fake passport holders. They claim to inherit the kingdom of God but they can never inherit it until they accept this truth. The only truth is if Christ is your foundation, then heaven is your destination. Jesus Christ is the only way who can guide you throughout the journey, from the foundation to the final destination. By using the journey of the Israelites for forty years as a model in my book Keep Your Eternal Passport in a Safe Place, we will see how to finish successfully the journey of life from the foundation to the final destination.

Book excerpt: In our modern selfie and soundbite society, so many of us struggle with connection and self-acceptance. We rely on our keyboards and screens, and masks that hide who we really are ... even from ourselves. Rather than having character, we become characters. Rather than being grateful for what we have, we feel entitled to all of it and more. With this mindset, it is easy to fool ourselves into thinking that we are fine the way we are, and that “they” are the problem, abdicating any responsibility for our failures or failings and remaining stuck in situations and circumstances that hurt ourselves and everyone around us. Whether we’re facing the rock bottom of homelessness and drug addiction or simply strained relationships with friends and loved ones, an examination of our self-defeating beliefs and habits can make a world of difference. The Spiritual Life: Finding Freedom From Homelessness, Hunger, and Heroin takes readers on a journey from the depths of despair and dejection to the rejuvenation of a life worth living, all through an inward focus that helps nurture and develop a healthier outward look.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pastoral care and its theology get a gentle boost from some of the best in the business of caring for the soul. When a person hurts, they often look to God. Several pathfinders give new light from their specialties, each one speaking powerfully, uniquely, and artfully from decades of experience. Dr. Amos Yong’s article on disability forwards the amazingly helpful term, “temporarily able-bodied.” Greek Orthodox Dr. Vasileios Thermos and Roman Catholic Dr. Robert Fastiggi enlighten next to the powerful testaments of Professor Godfrey Harold on South Africa and Dr. Samuel Yonas Deressa on Ethiopia. Each weathered author contributes universal insights into the grace of our great God and challenges pastors throughout the Christian world to kindly consider the heart of the afflicted. These finely hewn stones can be used by anyone in the ministry to sharpen their serve. Mattis and Maness offer this third collection from Testamentum Imperium with a prayer that these will open new avenues of sensitivity to the hearts and souls of those in travail and aid those who are called by God to serve those in pain.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When Adam's eyes were opened for the first time, he saw an alternative route outside of the will of God. Some would say, That day, he took a freedom train driven by the human will, making every designated stop outside of God's presence. Many Christians have gotten on the same train, a chosen freighter that can only take us but so far, like church and back home again. Yet Jesus is standing at the end of the tracks, encouraging us to go a little bit further because our Heavenly Father is waiting for us with outstretched arms. We were redeemed to return back to the posture of Adam before the fall, destined never to fall again, unless we desire to lay prostrate before the Lord.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An exploration of how engaging identity and cultural heritage can transform teaching and learning for Black women educators in the name of justice and freedom in the classroom In The Spirit of Our Work, Dr. Cynthia Dillard centers the spiritual lives of Black women educators and their students, arguing that spirituality has guided Black people throughout the diaspora. She demonstrates how Black women teachers and teacher educators can heal, resist, and (re)member their identities in ways that are empowering for them and their students. Dillard emphasizes that any discussion of Black teachers’ lives and work cannot be limited to truncated identities as enslaved persons in the Americas. The Spirit of Our Work addresses questions that remain largely invisible in what is known about teaching and teacher education. According to Dillard, this invisibility renders the powerful approaches to Black education that are imbodied and marshaled by Black women teachers unknown and largely unavailable to inform policy, practice, and theory in education. The Spirit of Our Work highlights how the intersectional identities of Black women teachers matter in teaching and learning and how educational settings might more carefully and conscientiously curate structures of support that pay explicit and necessary attention to spirituality as a crucial consideration.

Book excerpt: Combining psychology and spirituality, this practical book considers archetypes from Asian, Middle Eastern and European myths and explains how they can be used in therapeutic practice to help clients achieve personal or clinical goals. This innovative model of archetype imagination is a powerful tool for coaches and therapists. It involves visualizing an archetype, which teaches the mind to focus, relaxes the ego, and opens the unconscious. This makes space for spiritual insights and allows the mind to let go of distracting sensations and emotions. Combining foundational psychological theories, brain physiology, and Hindu philosophy with the author's visionary experiences, this book explains how to use this technique in clinical practice. It also includes case studies, engaging images, practical exercises, and quizzes for use with clients. Spiritual seekers will find the book's insights a great complement to their practice. This book will help counsellors, coaches, psychologists, psychotherapists, arts therapists, and other therapeutic practitioners to use archetype imagination techniques to guide their clients to emotional health and spiritual awareness.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Discover some of the world's most awe-inspiring and holy places, from Stonehenge to Uluru, and Walden Pond to Angkor Wat. Humans have always searched for and created meaning in the world around them, whether in breathtakingly stunning natural features and phenomena, acknowledging the ancient home of a particular faith or movement, or honouring the location of a significant event. In this beautifully illustrated guide, Alice Peck discusses what makes a place spiritual – whether reaches of time, geography, the provision of sustenance or inspiration, or mystery and magic – and then explores 80 such locations around the globe. Rather than a comprehensive travel guide, the description of each one includes a detail or tip – something beautiful, strange, relatively unknown or unfamiliar – to allow readers to deepen their focus and perhaps experience the place in a different way than they might expect. If you are unable to travel at this time, this book will help you plan your next adventure. And if you are trying to limit your carbon footprint, each destination is accompanied by a related meditation, prayer, practice or quotation to help you connect to the spirit of it from your own home.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Will you go to hell for me? asked the Lord. I remember standing in my living room stunned. It took me a few days to be able to answer him. I replied with a shaking, Yes. He then took me in a vision to the gates of hell. I could smell the sulfur and feel the heat. The gates were huge thick black iron, they swung open as I approached. I was standing on stepping stones just big enough for my feet and lava swirled around the stones. I heard the Lords voice, Dont be afraid Carolyn. I have a net around you and yours. I looked and saw a large net all around me. I continued along the stones and then I saw it - a hand reached desperately to me out of the lava. I grabbed a hold and pulled for all I was worth! The vision ended. From that vision, I learned there are people all around us who are in the own personal hells. We are to set the captives free! The Lord gave me a way to help. It is called Spiritual Body Mapping and it works! It is an amazing way to quickly diagnose and target the strengths as well as areas that need to be addressed in an individuals life. As you read this book, I pray for the spirit of wisdom and revelation to enlighten you. God Bless you, Carolyn Steidley
