Download or read book Pre-Riesz Spaces written by Anke Kalauch and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2018-11-19 with total page 314 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph develops the theory of pre-Riesz spaces, which are the partially ordered vector spaces that embed order densely into Riesz spaces. Concepts from Riesz space theory such as disjointness, ideals, and bands are extended to pre-Riesz spaces. The analysis revolves around embedding techniques, including the Riesz completion and the functional representation. In the same spirit, norms and topologies on a pre-Riesz space and their extensions to the Riesz completion are examined. The generalized concepts are used to investigate disjointness preserving operators on pre-Riesz spaces and related notions. The monograph presents recent results as well as being an accessible introduction to the theory of partially ordered vector spaces and positive operators. Book Synopsis Functional Analysis and Semi-groups by : Einar Hille
Download or read book Functional Analysis and Semi-groups written by Einar Hille and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 1996-02-06 with total page 808 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Early in 1952 it became obvious that a new printing would be needed, and new advances in the theory called for extensive revision. It has been completely rewritten, mostly by Phillips, and much has been added while keeping the existing framework. Thus, the algebraic tools play a major role, and are introduced early, leading to a more satisfactory operational calculus and spectral theory. The Laplace-Stieltjes transform methods, used by Hille, have not been replaced but rather supplemented by the new tools. - Foreword.

Book Synopsis Functional Analysis in China by : Bingren Li
Download or read book Functional Analysis in China written by Bingren Li and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 391 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Functional Analysis has become one of the main branches in Chinese mathematics. Many outstanding contributions and results have been achieved over the past sixty years. This authoritative collection is complementary to Western studies in this field, and seeks to summarise and introduce the historical progress of the development of Functional Analysis in China from the 1940s to the present. A broad range of topics is covered, such as nonlinear functional analysis, linear operator theory, theory of operator algebras, applications including the solvability of some partial differential equations, and special spaces that contain Banach spaces and topological vector spaces. Some of these papers have made a significant impact on the mathematical community worldwide. Audience: This volume will be of interest to mathematicians, physicists and engineers at postgraduate level.
Book Synopsis Intelligent Numerical Methods II: Applications to Multivariate Fractional Calculus by : George A. Anastassiou
Download or read book Intelligent Numerical Methods II: Applications to Multivariate Fractional Calculus written by George A. Anastassiou and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-04-27 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this short monograph Newton-like and other similar numerical methods with applications to solving multivariate equations are developed, which involve Caputo type fractional mixed partial derivatives and multivariate fractional Riemann-Liouville integral operators. These are studied for the first time in the literature. The chapters are self-contained and can be read independently. An extensive list of references is given per chapter. The book’s results are expected to find applications in many areas of applied mathematics, stochastics, computer science and engineering. As such this short monograph is suitable for researchers, graduate students, to be used in graduate classes and seminars of the above subjects, also to be in all science and engineering libraries.
