Book excerpt: The Pacific Northwest Extension publication series provides the principle source of information on new research developments on conservation farming systems in the region. The Pacific Northwest Conservation Farming Handbook was published in November 1989 as a Pacific North West Extension publication in Idaho Oregon and Washington. It consolidated an extensive amount of new management technologies for conservation tillage in the PNW into an organized resource guide to increase the accessibility to the information. The Handbook consists of PNW Conservation Tillage Handbook Series publications. All the Series have been published since 1984. When the Handbook was printed in 1989, it included 95 Handbook Series publications. Through 1995, 32 new Handbook Series publications have been added. The publications are written from the perspective of how new research developments can fit into a producer's management systems.
