Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The decaying town of Innsmouth, Massachusetts has an unhealthy reputation. Nearby citizens shun it. You won't find it on any maps. And the denizens just don't look right. They just don't. Maybe it's something in the water? Robert Loveless is trying to escape the lurking fear of insanity cursing his bloodline when his quest lures him to the town of Innsmouth. As Loveless wanders the tumbledown streets past homes and buildings of departed grandeur, he uncovers the town's awful past from a half-crazed old drunk named Zadok Allen. A shadow reaching out from before the dawn of history is haunting Innsmouth, and now that Loveless has learned the truth its denizens want him to stay there...forever. This graphic novel features an all-new authorized adaptation of one of H. P. Lovecraft's most popular weird tales by Steven Philip Jones (H. P. Lovecraft's Worlds, Lovecraftian) and Trey Baldwin (Ladies of Market Street), Lovecraft's seminal novella, a Lovecraft biography, and Jones's article on adapting Lovecraft into comics updated for this edition. "Where does reality leave off and madness begin?" - H. P. Lovecraft, The Shadow over Innsmouth A Caliber Comics release.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Debates over the Resurrection of the Dead, Outi Lehtipuu highlights the striking observation that in many early texts the way that belief in resurrection is formulated is used as a sign of inclusion and exclusion, not only in relation to non-Christians but vis-à-vis other Christians. Those who teach otherwise have deviated from the truth, are not true Christians, and do the works of the devil. Using insights from the sociological study of deviance, Dr Lehtipuu demonstrates that labelling was used as a tool for marking boundaries between those who belonged and those who did not. This was extremely important in the fluid conditions where the small Christian minority groups found themselves. In a situation where there were no universally accepted structures that defined what constituted the true Christian belief, several competing interpretations and their representatives struggled for recognition of their views based on what they believed to be the apostolic tradition. The most hotly-debated aspect of resurrection was whether it would entail the body of flesh and blood or not. When resurrection would take place was closely related to this. Controversies died since the scriptural legacy was ambiguous enough to allow different hermeneutical solutions. The battle over resurrection was closely related to the question of how scriptures were to be understood as well as to what constituted the human self that would survive death. To demonstrate this a wide variety of texts are studied, from theological treatises (including relevant Nag Hammadi texts) to apocryphal acts and martyrologies. Acknowledging the complexity and diversity of the early Christian movement, this volume views early Christian discourse as part of the broader ancient discursive world where similar debates were going on among both Jews and the majority population.

The book provides a full range of exercises and aids to improve the overtone capabilities and overall saxophone playing for every level of saxophonist. Beginners will find the aids they need to achieve their first overtones, and players who can already play a wide range of overtones will find exercises that improve and expand their abilities as well. "Ben Britton has put together a comprehensive volume explaining the overtone series and how to practice with it. A must-have for serious students of the saxophone." - Charles Pillow, Assistant Professor of Jazz Saxophone, Eastman School of Music From the introduction: "One of the most efficient ways to improve saxophone sound or tone is through overtone practice. Just a minute or two of proper overtone practice immediately increases the clarity and richness of tone as well as increases your ability to maintain a great sound while playing technically difficult music. Regularly practicing overtones will lead to consistently achieving those ends and extending your range into the altissimo register. Mastering overtones can result in a near four-octave range with a consistent and beautiful sound throughout."

With the improvement of technology every day, we meet new and complicated devices and methods in different fields. Quality control explains the directed use of testing to measure the achievement of a specific standard. It is the process, procedures and authority used to accept or reject all components, drug product containers, closures, in-process materials, packaging material, labeling and drug products, and the authority to review production records to assure that no errors have occurred. The quality which is supposed to be achieved is not a concept which can be controlled by easy, numerical or other means, but it is the control over the intrinsic quality of a test facility and its studies. The aim of this book is to share useful and practical knowledge about quality control in several fields with the people who want to improve their knowledge.
