This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 162 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The central message of this book is the message declared by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since its beginning. Joseph Smith, the first prophet of this dispensation, taught: “The fundamental principles of our religion are the testimony of the Apostles and Prophets, concerning Jesus Christ, that He died, was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended into heaven; and all other things which pertain to our religion are only appendages to it.” Every prophet who has succeeded Joseph Smith has added his personal witness of the divine mission of the Savior. The First Presidency affirmed: “As those who are called and ordained to bear witness of Jesus Christ to all the world, we testify that He was resurrected on that Easter morning nearly two thousand years ago, and that He lives today. He has a glorified, immortal body of flesh and bones. He is the Savior, the Light and Life of the world.” Millions of faithful Saints have also had testimonies of the divinity of Jesus Christ. This knowledge has motivated them to make the sacrifices necessary to build The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the kingdom of God on the earth. The story of the establishment of the Church is one of faith, consecration, and joy. It is the story of living prophets who taught the truths of God to the modern world. It is the story of men and women from all walks of life who sought for the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ and, upon finding it, were willing to pay the price of becoming the Savior’s disciples. These stalwart Saints pressed on through sufferings and hardships, witnessing even in their darkest hours of the goodness of God and the joy of his love. They have left a legacy of faith, courage, obedience, and sacrifice. The heritage of faith continues today. Latter-day Saints throughout the world are modern pioneers in their own homelands, where they live with faith and courage in a time fraught with new challenges and opportunities. There are pages of history yet to be written. We each have an opportunity to leave a heritage for generations to follow that will help them understand the joy of living and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. As we learn more about the faith of those who have gone before us, we can better understand those with whom we have joined hands in bearing witness of the Savior and helping to establish his kingdom. We can determine to live more righteously as faithful disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There was a time when the church of Christ was the fastest growing Christian group in America. Their goal was the unity of all believers through Jesus Christ. Their membership was known as a “people of the Book.” But through the years the churches of Christ gradually left their noble plea of unity for an exclusive religion. No longer does the outsider recognize the restoration churches as a unity movement. Today they’re known more as the group who thinks they’re the only ones going to Heaven. No longer does one think “people of the Book,” when someone mentions the church of Christ. Unfortunately, the membership has stopped reading and thinking. They’ve learned that it’s dangerous to think independent of the party line. When you do, you risk rejection and excommunication. Here’s a book that will challenge, encourage, and stimulate your thinking. It's candid, confessional, and gently confrontational. Fred Peatross has some words about traditions, opinions, and scripture. So grab your glasses and a highlighter and sit back in your Lazy-Boy for the next two hours as you take a journey through the traditions and truths of the Lord’s Supper, a cappella music, evangelism, giving, baptism, and many more.

Book excerpt: In his book, GOD WHO ARE YOU? David Huyard tells the story of the struggle their family encountered in leaving the Amish and everyone they knew, to pursue God's call upon their lives. At the age of twelve David had a vision of preaching to thousands of black people, that vision became real some thirty years later while he was preaching on the island of Antigua, in the West Indies when he suddenly realized the 5,000 estimated crusade crowd before him was exactly what he saw while working in his father's cornfield in Lancaster County Pennsylvania. David was ordained to the ministry in 1967, and served as pastor for a congregation in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, it was there that the Lord opened the door to twenty-five years of international radio evangelism. David received his Master of Arts degree in Church ministries and Christian counseling from Eastern Mennonite Seminary in 1987. He has compiled a number of teaching materials; his most extensive work is a 1,000 page commentary on the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. David is an accomplished artist and has crafted numerous musical instruments including more than sixty violins. As you read their story your emotions will be greatly stirred as you realize the power of the spoken Word, and how the Holy Spirit can reach the vilest sinner and transform them into a new creation in Christ. You will identify with your own faith struggles and triumphs to discover who God wants to be in you and how you can be more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ, that rejection will never work if we refuse to accept it, and how God will bring spiritual significant others into our lives to enable us to discover His will for our lives achieving our ultimate potential.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Holy Heritage traces the journey of the Anglican faith from its first flowering on the ancient island of Brittania through its emigration in the sixteenth century to the New World and transplantation to a wild, neglected area of a strange land called Texas. There, in 1856, after a long, historic struggle for survival, this faith was firmly planted as the Parish Church of Saint Matthew in a tiny village called Dallas. The reader is invited to accompany that first parish through the struggles of the Civil War and the Reconstruction era, following its transformation into a cathedral church. Each tenure of its nineteen fascinating deans is detailed along with the parallel growth of the city each served, never forgetting the frontiersmen whose struggles made it all possible. Here, the reader will also learn why an Irishman called Alexander Charles Garrett is called the Apostle of Texas as well as which of the pioneer Dallas clerics was the first man to climb Mount McKinley, wrote a book in Japanese, was born in Scotland, and was killed in action during the Civil War and what happens next.
