Book Synopsis Interferogram Analysis For Optical Testing by : Zacarias Malacara
Download or read book Interferogram Analysis For Optical Testing written by Zacarias Malacara and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-10-03 with total page 568 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this day of digitalization, you can work within the technology of optics without having to fully understand the science behind it. However, for those who wish to master the science, rather than merely be its servant, it's essential to learn the nuances, such as those involved with studying fringe patterns produced by optical testing interferometers. When Interferogram Analysis for Optical Testing originally came to print, it filled the need for an authoritative reference on this aspect of fringe analysis. That it was also exceptionally current and highly accessible made its arrival even more relevant. Of course, any book on something as cutting edge as interferogram analysis, no matter how insightful, isn't going to stay relevant forever. The second edition of Interferogram Analysis for Optical Testing is designed to meet the needs of all those involved or wanting to become involved in this area of advanced optical engineering. For those new to the science, it provides the necessary fundamentals, including basic computational methods for studying fringe patterns. For those with deeper experience, it fills in the gaps and adds the information necessary to complete and update one's education. Written by the most experienced researchers in optical testing, this text discusses classical and innovative fringe analysis, principles of Fourier theory, digital image filtering, phase detection algorithms, and aspheric wavelength testing. It also explains how to assess wavefront deformation by calculating slope and local average curvature.

Book Synopsis Comparison of Four Methods of Interferogram Reduction and Interpretation by :
Download or read book Comparison of Four Methods of Interferogram Reduction and Interpretation written by and published by . This book was released on 1985 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This paper will address the problem of accurate reduction and interpretation of interferograms. Peak-to-valley wavefront deformation will be the main criterion of evaluation. Interferograms containing power, spherical aberration, coma, and astigmatism will be evaluated using four different methods. These methods will be (1) visual interpretation using a ''harp, '' (2) manual interpretation, (3) automatic digitization (Zygo Zapp), and (4) computer interpretation (fringe). The strengths and weaknesses of these methods, including cost, time, accuracy, and repeatability, will be discussed. Reference will be made to ''Optical Interferograms-Reduction and Interpretation'' an ASTM publication. 2 refs., 5 figs.

Book Synopsis Interferogram Reduction and Interpretation as Applied to the Optical Analysis of a Laser Fusion System by : VK. Viswanathan
Download or read book Interferogram Reduction and Interpretation as Applied to the Optical Analysis of a Laser Fusion System written by VK. Viswanathan and published by . This book was released on 1978 with total page 9 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 10 kJ Eight-Beam CO2 Laser Fusion System, currently under construction at Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory (LASL), has approximately 100 optical elements per beam. The nominal system is diffraction limited and degradations in performance are caused primarily by imperfect components and alignment errors. Consequently, analysis and predictions for the system are very much dependent on the proper description of the imperfect components.

Book Synopsis Optical Interferometry by : Alexandr Banishev
Download or read book Optical Interferometry written by Alexandr Banishev and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2017-02-15 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Optical methods of measurements are the most sensitive techniques of noncontact investigations, and at the same time, they are fast as well as accurate which increases reproducibility of observed results. In recent years, the importance of optical interferometry methods for research has dramatically increased, and applications range from precise surface testing to finding extrasolar planets. This book covers various aspects of optical interferometry including descriptions of novel apparatuses and methods, application interferometry for studying biological objects, surface qualities, materials characterization, and optical testing. The book includes a series of chapters in which experts share recent progress in interferometry through original research and literature reviews.
Book Synopsis Interferogram Reduction and Interpretation as Applied to the Optical Analysis of the 10 KJ LASL Laser Fusion System by :
Download or read book Interferogram Reduction and Interpretation as Applied to the Optical Analysis of the 10 KJ LASL Laser Fusion System written by and published by . This book was released on 1978 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The LASL 10 kJ Eight-Beam CO2 Laser Fusion System, currently under construction, has approximately one hundred optical elements per beam. The nominal system is diffraction limited and degradations in performance are primarily caused by imperfect components as well as alignment errors. Consequently, analysis and predictions for the system are very much dependent on the proper description of the imperfect components. The approach taken at LASL has been to characterize the components interferometrically. Interferograms of the various components are made at the 633 nm He--Ne wavelength. Detailed results of the analysis for one complete leg of the eight-beam system is presented.
