Raised in Cypress Bayou, Louisiana by abusive, alcoholic parents, Ryan had always been there. As teenagers on the banks of the Red River, they pledged themselves to each other with a kiss borne of true love. Ryan, a star quarterback, receives a scholarship. Furious when Alyssa ends their relationship, they don't speak till the following summer. In an enchanted riverside clearing where only the truest of love casts a spell, magic transpires their first time together. But devastation strikes and Ryan blames her, so Alyssa does what she does best. She runs away, away from the pain, and away from the guilt. Until ten years later… She'd recognize that scar on Ryan's hand half-blind. He'd carved a heart in the tree, accidentally slicing it open that wondrous night. But their love cannot be denied, and together they heal.

Book Synopsis Above Us Only Sky by : Michele Young-Stone
Download or read book Above Us Only Sky written by Michele Young-Stone and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2015-03-03 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A “gripping, heartwarming” (Bookpage) novel about a family separated by oceans, generations, and war, but connected by something much greater—the gift of wings. On March 29, 1973, Prudence Eleanor Vilkas was born with heart-shaped wings pressed accordion-style against her back. Considered a birth defect, her wings were surgically removed, leaving only the ghost of them behind. In 1980, Prudence’s mother takes her from Nashville to Florida, to a town inhabited by people who have run as far as they can without fins or wings. In this new town, Prudence is befriended by a boy who can see what others can’t, including Prudence’s ghostly wings. The unexpected and unimaginable bubble up from the depths of the Atlantic to confront Prudence when she meets her long-estranged Lithuanian grandfather and discovers a miraculous lineage beating and pulsing with past Lithuanian bird-women, storytellers with wings dragging the dirt, survivors perched on radio towers, lovers lit up like fireworks and heroes disguised as everyday men and women. Above Us Only Sky spans the 1863 January Uprising against Russian Tsarist rule in Eastern Europe to the fall of the Berlin Wall and Lithuania’s independence in 1991. It is a “daring, imaginative” (Milepost magazine) story of mutual understanding between the old and young; it is a love story, a story of survival, and most importantly, a story about disovering where we belong in the world. Young-Stone seamlessly balances Lithuanian history with magical realism in this “amazing, spellbinding, incredible journey” (Literary Hoarders).

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Scientific Natural Philosophy explains the nature and content of scientific natural philosophy, particularly qualitative modeling, and updates scientific methodology by providing details of the mathematics involved. The book presents a total view of our universe, from the fractal superstring to its destiny as black holes back in to dark matter, and to the timeless and boundless 'Universe' where our universe is a local super, super galaxy. It stresses the various levels of complementarity between qualitative and quantitative modeling where the former solves and answers questions the latter could not and duality between quantum and macro gravity. It highlights new information from the Grand Unification Theory (GUT) missing in previous philosophical works such as the indestructible generalized nested fractal superstring, brain waves as common medium of the brain and gene for their functions. Moreover, it points to a new technological epoch brought about by the GUT based on utilization of dark matter towards elevating the quality of life. This comprehensive book provides an exciting perspective on this fascinating field to the reader.
