Book Synopsis Separable Algebras over Commutative Rings by : Frank De Meyer
Download or read book Separable Algebras over Commutative Rings written by Frank De Meyer and published by Springer. This book was released on 2006-11-15 with total page 162 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These lecture notes were prepared by the authors for use in graduate courses and seminars, based on the work of many earlier mathematicians. In addition to very elementary results, presented for the convenience of the reader, Chapter I contains the Morita theorems and the definition of the projective class group of a commutative ring. Chapter II addresses the Brauer group of a commutative ring, and automorphisms of separable algebras. Chapter III surveys the principal theorems of the Galois theory for commutative rings. In Chapter IV the authors present a direct derivation of the first six terms of the seven-term exact sequence for Galois cohomology. In the fifth and final chapter the authors illustrate the preceding material with applications to the structure of central simple algebras and the Brauer group of a Dedekind domain, and they pose problems for further investigation. Exercises are included at the end of each chapter.

Book Synopsis Proceedings of the 10th International Conference on Rotor Dynamics – IFToMM by : Katia Lucchesi Cavalca
Download or read book Proceedings of the 10th International Conference on Rotor Dynamics – IFToMM written by Katia Lucchesi Cavalca and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-08-20 with total page 546 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: IFToMM conferences have a history of success due to the various advances achieved in the field of rotor dynamics over the past three decades. These meetings have since become a leading global event, bringing together specialists from industry and academia to promote the exchange of knowledge, ideas, and information on the latest developments in the dynamics of rotating machinery. The scope of the conference is broad, including e.g. active components and vibration control, balancing, bearings, condition monitoring, dynamic analysis and stability, wind turbines and generators, electromechanical interactions in rotor dynamics and turbochargers. The proceedings are divided into four volumes. This first volume covers the following main topics: Active Components and Vibration Control; Balancing; Bearings: Fluid Film Bearings, Magnetic Bearings, Rolling Bearings and Seals; and Blades, Bladed Systems and Impellers.
Book Synopsis Modules and Algebras by : Robert Wisbauer
Download or read book Modules and Algebras written by Robert Wisbauer and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1996-05-15 with total page 384 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Module theory over commutative asociative rings is usually extended to noncommutative associative rings by introducing the category of left (or right) modules. An alternative to this procedure is suggested by considering bimodules. A refined module theory for associative rings is used to investigate the bimodule structure of arbitary algebras and group actions on these algebras.

Book Synopsis Introduction to Symmetry Analysis by : Brian J. Cantwell
Download or read book Introduction to Symmetry Analysis written by Brian J. Cantwell and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2002-09-23 with total page 670 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Symmetry analysis based on Lie group theory is the most important method for solving nonlinear problems aside from numerical computation. The method can be used to find the symmetries of almost any system of differential equations and the knowledge of these symmetries can be used to reduce the complexity of physical problems governed by the equations. This is a broad, self-contained, introduction to the basics of symmetry analysis for first and second year graduate students in science, engineering and applied mathematics. Mathematica-based software for finding the Lie point symmetries and Lie-Bäcklund symmetries of differential equations is included on a CD along with more than forty sample notebooks illustrating applications ranging from simple, low order, ordinary differential equations to complex systems of partial differential equations. MathReader 4.0 is included to let the user read the sample notebooks and follow the procedure used to find symmetries.

Book Synopsis Introduction to Finite Element Analysis and Design by : Nam-Ho Kim
Download or read book Introduction to Finite Element Analysis and Design written by Nam-Ho Kim and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2018-08-20 with total page 565 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Introduces the basic concepts of FEM in an easy-to-use format so that students and professionals can use the method efficiently and interpret results properly Finite element method (FEM) is a powerful tool for solving engineering problems both in solid structural mechanics and fluid mechanics. This book presents all of the theoretical aspects of FEM that students of engineering will need. It eliminates overlong math equations in favour of basic concepts, and reviews of the mathematics and mechanics of materials in order to illustrate the concepts of FEM. It introduces these concepts by including examples using six different commercial programs online. The all-new, second edition of Introduction to Finite Element Analysis and Design provides many more exercise problems than the first edition. It includes a significant amount of material in modelling issues by using several practical examples from engineering applications. The book features new coverage of buckling of beams and frames and extends heat transfer analyses from 1D (in the previous edition) to 2D. It also covers 3D solid element and its application, as well as 2D. Additionally, readers will find an increase in coverage of finite element analysis of dynamic problems. There is also a companion website with examples that are concurrent with the most recent version of the commercial programs. Offers elaborate explanations of basic finite element procedures Delivers clear explanations of the capabilities and limitations of finite element analysis Includes application examples and tutorials for commercial finite element software, such as MATLAB, ANSYS, ABAQUS and NASTRAN Provides numerous examples and exercise problems Comes with a complete solution manual and results of several engineering design projects Introduction to Finite Element Analysis and Design, 2nd Edition is an excellent text for junior and senior level undergraduate students and beginning graduate students in mechanical, civil, aerospace, biomedical engineering, industrial engineering and engineering mechanics.
